I was sat in the room I was staying in at the Pembrooke.

"AJ time t-" Hermione trailed off walking in. "You're already up."

"Forgot about a last-minute paper due for Biology class." I said.

"Do you need anything for school?" Hermione asked.

"Nope." I said.

"You haven't even got a school bag." Hermione said.

"I do." I pulled a bag out of my rucksack. Hermione took it off me.

"It's empty besides a notebook, brass knuckles, a switchblade and a lighter." Hermione said.

"Exercise book, protection and therapy," I said.

"What about a pen or a pencil case?" Hermione asked.

"Pockets." I said.

"So what exactly do you learn 2 days a week?" Hermione asked.

"Math, English, Biology, chemistry and physics. American history and other stuff." I said.

"All in one book?" Hermione asked.

"Blame the education system." I said throwing my things in my bag and heading to walk out of the apartment.

"Breakfast." Hermione yelled at me.

"I'm good." I said.

"Wasn't a request AJ." Hermione said. I walked back to the table and sat back down.

"You actually going to school this week?" Veronica teased.

"2 days more than last week." I said biting into the pancakes.

"You didn't go last week." Hermione said.

"School is pointless." I said.

"Oh yeah?" Veronica asked.

"Yep." I said.

"Why do you think school is pointless?" Hermione asked.

"There's plenty of successful people who make millions a year without having a fancy degree from some overpriced school," I said. "When am I ever going to need trig after high school?" I asked.

"Do you even know what trig is?" Veronica asked.

"Triangles. Soh Cah Toa. Sin, cos and tan. Linked with Pythagoras' theorem which is A squared + B squared = C squared." I said. Veronica looked impressed. "See I ain't just a pretty face. I got a couple brain cells working in this shell." I said.

I walked out of my room at the Pembrooke to see Hermione and Veronica eating with Kevin Keller, Betty and a girl that I didn't know. I had my serpent jacket draped around my shoulders. Elijah was sat on the couch playing on the PlayStation. I had my hand on the door.
