Chapter Six

Dust kicked up in clouds of dirt, blinding Miko as she crawled into a small crack in the rocks to get away from the decepticons.

She curled up into a small ball against the back wall as long sharp digits reached in after her.

She put a hand over her mouth to keep from screaming in panic as she pressed herself further against the cold stone wall.

The sharp razors clawed at the wall, trying to grab her. Frustrated, the 'con pulled his servo back and knelt down to look at her.

"Come here, human." he sneered, reaching his clawed servo after her again, this time grabbing her. She yelped in surprise and tried to get away.

"Put me down!" she yelled, hitting at him, "Let me go!"

The 'con ignored her as he stood, walking back towards the battle.

"Bulk!" she shrieked, hitting the con as she tried to gain her guardian's attention.

Said 'bot looked up, before noticing Miko and his optics widened. "Miko!"

Bulkhead knocked down the 'cons that came after him before running towards the 'con holding Miko. He smashed into the con's side making him yell out in frustration before swinging a counter strike.

Bulkhead growled, punching the con, sending Miko fling out of the 'con's grip to the ground.

Bulkhead continued to fight, dodging the 'con's blade, as he punched him.

"Miko?" asked a panicked voice, Bulkhead turned to catch a glimpse to see Jack kneeling beside the limp form of Miko.

The 'con punched Bulkhead sending the autobot to the ground.

The decepticon smirked as he transformed his servo into a buzzsaw for the final strike before a horn honked as a motorcycle and Camaro drove through the tunnels.

Arcee transformed, jumping at Knockout knocking him back away from the mech.

Bumblebee transformed holding Raf in his servo. Raf's eyes widened as he was set down on the ground.

"We need to go back to base." said Arcee, she turned and looked across the field at the heated battle between the prime and warlord.

"Ratchet, we need a bridge," said Arcee into the comlink.

:{I'll send one to your coordinates.}: he answered through a dim static.

After a few slow minutes, a ground bridge opened in front of the group.

"Go through the bridge." said Arcee sternly, picking up Miko, as she looked down at her own charge. "Now."

Jack nodded before running through the ground bridge as it sparked slightly.

"Autobot's fall back." said Optimus seriously, avoiding Megatron's blade.

"What about you?" asked Arcee, watching as Bulkhead ran through the glitching ground bridge with Miko, Bumblebee, and Raf.

"I will be fine." said Optimus, punching Megatron in the midsection sending the warlord stumbling backward.

Arcee was torn between helping her leader or obeying his order. She sighed in aggravation running to help her leader.

"Arcee," said Optimus sternly as he blocked Megatron's attack, "Go back to base before the bridge closes." 

Arcee ignored him as she unsheathed the blades on her wrists and attacked Megatron, knocking the warlord away from the Prime.

Optimus dodged a blast from Megatron's cannon, ducking as the warlord threw Arcee off and charged towards him.

Arcee rolled away from Megatron's blade as he swung down at her.

Optimus narrowed his optics as he kicked at Megatron sending him backward into a rock ledge.

"Return to base, Arcee." said the Prime sternly, leaving little room for argument.

Arcee stood and ran towards the glitching groundbridge Optimus right behind her.

Arcee jumped through the ground bridge as it sparked, making a low humming sound.

Optimus ran to join her when Megatron fired his cannon at the Prime.

"Optimus!" yelled Arcee running back towards the Prime, only for the humming to drown out her shouts.

Megatron unsheathed his blade holding it over the Primes helm as Arcee watched in horror.

Just as Megatron brought his blade down, the ground bridge closed, leaving Arcee falling to the ground of base trembling.

"Arcee?" asked Ratchet as he knelt by her side, "What happened? Where's Optimus?"

Arcee shook her helm, putting a servo over her mouth, "Megatron-"

All eyes and optics were on Arcee as she stared off into space in shock of what happened.

"Megatron what?" asked Jack nervously watching his guardian with a worried expression.

Arcee looked at Ratchet warily, "Megatron...killed him-"

Collective gasps echoed around the room, Ratchet stared at Arcee his expression becoming blank.

"Are you certain Megatron offline him?" he asked dryly, standing as he walked to his computer typing in a few things studying the screen.

"I saw it with my own optics," said Arcee softly, "I couldn't help him..."

Bumblebee helped Arcee to her peds, looking around the room at all the shocked and worried faces.

Miko was silent for once as she stared off in space, pulling her knees to her chest.

"Ratchet?" asked Raf walking to the end of the platform near the silent medic.

"I can't find his signal-" he muttered to himself, "I can't find Optimus' life signal..."

The 'bot's tried to process what the medic just said, just as the ground bridge gave a loud screech and spark knocking the power out in base as everything went deadly silent.
