━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━there was a pearly glow in the graciously clear blue sky along with the faint golden hues of sunlight that infiltrated it, generously making the entire world looked all miraculously bright.
jeongguk walked up the steps leading to the school entrance, feeling the glittering, golden sunrays soaking into his skin and the cool morning air gently stroking his face and hair - helping him to remain calm on his first day at his new school.
he glanced at the polished school sign board standing proudly at the side of the steps amidst the leafy trees which were swaying ever so slightly and elegantly because of the soft breeze. reaching the top of the steps, jeongguk took a deep breath and entered the school building.
he was welcomed with the sight of unfamiliar faces of students chit-chatting with their friends in an exhilarated way, reminded him of his friends back in his old school.
he headed to the school reception straightaway, there, he was warmly greeted by a petite middle-aged lady whom he assumed to be the school receptionist.
"good morning, how can i help you?"
jeongguk took his hands out of his pockets and slightly bowed out of respect. "good morning, i'm a new student here. my name's jeon jeongguk."
"oh, jeon jeongguk, yes, i was informed by your homeroom teacher," she slid a big white file from the corner of the counter closer to her side and took out a few documents. "here are your schedules and general information on clubs that you can join." she handed the papers to him, "have a good day, jeongguk."
"thank you, you too." he took the papers from her and walked off. once he got back to the hallway, he sighed deeply, wondering why he was already feeling tired and wanting to go back home.
well, jeongguk has always disliked school for as long as he could remember - sure, education is important and learning could be fun sometimes, but do these things make him feel less shit about going to school? absolutely not.
since he had no dreams and aspirations of what he wanted to do in his life, he put more focus on his studies, just in case if he ever found something that he wanted to pursue later on in college or university, his application would at least looked decent enough to grant him a chance to do so.
to have a dream is a privilege, he thought.
a voice crept out from behind, "are you lost, babygirl?"
jeongguk turned around to see the owner of the voice whilst very much cringing at the movie reference, "please, that movie is just ain't it." he remarked, shaking his head disapprovingly.
as expected, it was another student, most likely a school prefect since his blazer was of a different color than the dark blue one that jeongguk was wearing. it was in ruby red.
he was kind of tall and had a seriously small face. jeongguk's eyes trailed down from his face to the man's nametag which had 'joshua hong' written on it.
"i agree. the storyline could've been less wattpad-ly." joshua agreed. he saw that the other had taken a look on his nametag but decided to introduce himself anyway, "i'm joshua hong, the school head prefect. you're the new kid right? jeon jungkook?"
"yes." jeongguk simply answered, handing the documents he was holding to the other who swiftly took it and analysed it.
while joshua was scanning his schedule, jeongguk took a quick look at their surroundings. they were standing in the middle of the now empty hallway so classes probably had already started.
