(Haley's POV)
Hearing the peaceful sound of a chirping bird right outside my window, I opened my eyes, squinting at the light shining into my room.
"Haley!" my mom yelled from downstairs, "come eat breakfast!"
"Kay, mom. I'll be right down."
Pulling myself out of bed, I groaned. I had always hated getting up in the mornings. I just wanted to snuggle deeper into the warmth of my duvet cover. But it's not like my mom will just let me skip school, she is really set on me getting into a good college.
After making myself presentable, I walked down into the kitchen, where my mom was making French toast. Yum.
I sat down at the table, pulled out my phone, and started scrolling through my texts.
Becca- meet me in the cafeteria at school at 8:45. We need to talk.
Me-Kk. See u in a while.
Just then, my mom placed a sweet-smelling plate of French toast in front of me. Devouring it quickly, I grabbed my purse, backpack, and keys and walked out the door, unlocking my car and getting in.
Arriving at school, I locked my car and walked straight into the cafeteria. Seeing Becca, I walked over to her, pulling her into the corner. "What do you want?" I asked, a little mad about the fact that I had to drag myself to school early just to listen to Becca. I mean, couldn't she have just texted me what she needed to tell me? A little annoying.
"Okay," she said in a hushed tone, "I'll tell you, but you need to swear that you won't tell anyone until I feel it's the right time"
"Okay, okay. Just stop blabbering and spill." I said. "I have to go work on some homework I forgot to do."
"I got a boyfriend."
