the annoying sound of jaehyun's alarm blaring through the quietness and coldness of his room woke him up, eyelids twitching as he mentally decides whether to pop his eyes open or continue sleeping as if he doesnt have classes in an hour. but you know how annoying alarms can be so jaehyun started patting the surface around his bed in search for his phone which he later found at the foot of his bed (he doesnt know why and how it got there). the moment he sat up, jaehyun realized something seems off. looking around the four corners of his room, he then shakes his head - no, there's no problem here. after a minute or so, jaehyun decided to shrug the feeling off before he could stress so much about how he feels that something isnt going according to his usual mornings.

getting his towel and other necessities, jaehyun then went out of his room to shower at their bathroom that was on the end of the hallway - passing by his friends' rooms with the same unsettling feeling he felt a few minutes ago. something's weird. its not until he's already lathering shampoo on his hair that he realized what's upㅡ the house is quiet. so quiet. thats what the unsettling feeling is, jaehyun was so used to waking up to rambunctious noise downstairs caused by his friends but today's an exception though. oh my god - what if the merman did something? or what if an apocalypse had started? am i the only one left here? am i safe here? where are they?

after scaring himself with stupid questions popping on his head, he then took another couple of minutes idiotically debating between dashing outside to his room or staying on the bathroom and wait for any of his friends to knock on the door. jaehyun got out of the shower with just his pants on and the towel on his shoulder, cautiously walking in the hallway and almost shitting his pants in surprise when a door creaked and cutting the eerie quiteness of the place. jaehyun then takes a deep breath of relief when he saw jungwoo went out of his room together with bubu. okay, maybe i was just overeacting with my questions earlier.

out of curiousity, jaehyun cant help but to ask, “hey, woo. where are the others?”

“downstairs, together with your parents.”

jaehyun had a hard time processing that information when bubu piped from jungwoo's side, “..parents?”

nodding lightly, jungwoo stated “yeah. jaehyun's mother and father.” he then held the merman's hand, pulling him as he ushers, “c'mon im going to introduce you to them.” jaehyun could only stare at their backs as they walk downstairs, cocking his head to the side as he mentally backtracks - wait. my parents!?

when jaehyun arrived at the kitchen after grabbing a shirt from his room, he made a face of confusion as to why his parents are indeed there. “oh jae, you're here. come, sit and have breakfast.” his mother greets, gesturing to a vacant seat.

“you didnt tell me you're going to visit..” jaehyun mumbled as he sits down. “its because we're trying to catch you sleeping with someone.” his mother answered jokingly with a hint of sarcasm which earned a couple of snorts from the people around the table, jaehyun could only pout at that.

this isnt a new experience within their friendgroup - the 'parents visiting them in their apartment' kind of thing. they're a bunch of college students living away from their parents, not to mention that their schedules are often packed with a very little time for rest even on weekends so every once in a while, someone's parents would visit them which is in no way a bad thing. the boys may not say it out loud but they find the gesture sweet and caring plus, who would turn down an offer of meals from their mothers, right? those women are like fairies with all their cooking skills and such.
