“hey, dont you have mr. choi's class later?” yugyeom asked, getting jaehyun's attention from the screen of his phone as he cocked a brow at his friend, “yeah, at two. why?”

“he's not around today.” yugyeom announced, nodding as if he's convincing jaehyun, “my first class earlier was supposed to be his subject but he didnt attend and just sent us a copy of his lesson.”

nodding slowly, jaehyun remembers that mr. choi's class was his only subject at noon and now that the teacher isnt present, that means he's free for the rest of the day. he grinned, mentally deciding that he would just go home and continue watching the drama series he's addicted to lately.

“does that mean we dont have to be here later?” a voice piped from jaehyun's other side. jaehyun hummed in agreement, turning to look at bubu “yes, we could stay at home later.”

or not. “actually.. forget that.” jaehyun waves a dismissive hands on the air for a moment, “lets go somewhere later.”

“where?” bubu questions further, boba eyes looking up at the taller male “..somewhere fun.”

true to jaehyun's words, after they've had their lunch, they went straight to that 'fun' place jaehyun talked about - the merman asked a couple of times what that place is but all that he received from jaehyun was a smile. bubu was eager, curious and all that but he refused to show any reactions.

“are we going to the arcade again?” the merman inquired, half expecting for jaehyun to answer him with a smile just like the last times but this time, jaehyun finally answered verbally, “its like an arcade as well but it has a bigger place, more games and even fun rides.”

“where is that? what do you call that?” jaehyun smiled at the merman's follow up questions - cute. he's as curious as a toddler. “its called 'amusement park'. its fun there, and as your only human friend - im going to let you experience what its like to be in an amusement park, okay?” the taller male boasted, a wide grin on his face as he throws an arm around bubu's shoulder “when you go back to the sea, you'll have some first-time fun experiences to share with your fellow mermaids or to the fishes and sharks there and i hope you wont forget any of this and remember it all your life - which is pretty long because you live forever.”

“what? who told you that?” with furrowed brows, the merman looked up at jaehyun - confused by the last part of his statement “we dont live forever, idiot.” bubu rolled his eyes to which jaehyun let out a dramatic gasp so bubu clarified, “time isnt really a thing back at the ocean so i dont know for how long we exactly stay alive but we do age and then dissipate - the thing is just we age much, much slower than mortals.” jaehyun's mouth form an 'o' at that, nodding slowly in realization.

“wow you still have a long way to go then.” bringing the merman closer to his frame, jaehyun continues, “for me, i'd like to remember all the things im about to do with you because who else in this world would meet a merman? is friends with a merman? is about to make memories with a merman? just me, right? i am really the 'lucky one'.”

“you're not lucky, you just happened to be so dumb and stole the pearl i was guarding hence i came to retrieve it.” with a voice so flat and an amused face, bubu replied. “and who told you you're going to remember all of this? just so you know, im going to end your life after i'll have the pearl back.”
