"Alright, but why don't you want to be Yhana's actual fiancé?"

Those words still lingered in my head even after a whole month. Yes A MONTH, it has been a month since I heard those words, yet they're stuck at my head like dandruff.

Why? Why don't I want to be her fiancé? I don't know either it's just.... I don't get it. Why would I mind? They're right, it's just an engagement anyway so why am I refusing so much? Why am I thinking this much about it? Ugh...

"Dude I know you said that staring off into nothing became your habit, but seriously it's creeping me out, stop doing that and talk to us if you have a problem." Carl interrupted my thoughts once again, making me look at him, only to find the other two glaring at me as well.

"Looks like you didn't even realized that we're here huh? That we're here since literally two hours ago." Rona started off, as I looked at her confused.

"What do you mean two hours? You mean I've been staring into nothing for two hours?" I asked shocked, they nodded, confirming my question.

"Anyway, with your alien - ness aside. Why do you think, Mr. Guevarra chose you to be his daughter's bride?" Carl asked out of curiosity.

"Well when I refused for literally the sixth time, he said that, that was the reason why he didn't mind me getting engaged with Ms. Yhana." I answered, still confused as to how refusing is a reason to get engaged.

I looked at them three, trying to figure out an answer from my question. Only to find them looking at me with an understanding expressions, their mouths forming an 'o'.

"Why are your faces like that? Did you get that?" I asked while pointing at them, and looking at them weirdly.

"I actually didn't get it but I guess Lonnie could explain." Carl said, making me look at Lonnie.

"Damn. If I was going to be your interpreter, then I shouldn't have said yes to your proposal." Lonnie said, rolling her eyes as she stood up.

"Come on that's the first time I asked you to explain~~" Carl defended himself, trying to ask forgiveness from his fiancé.

"You ain't forgiven yet, but Javier. This guy is trying to tell you that your humanity is the reason why this Mr. Guevarra is asking you to get engaged with Miss..... uhh... Yhana!" Lonnie explained. I looked at her with an 'o' shaped mouth and nodded, indicating that I understood.

"But that aside, why do you think this Ms. Yhana was so willing to get engaged? As if it's something so common to her? Do rich people always end up with someone they don't love? Or did she just watch too many dramas?" Rona butted in, laughing slightly. Making the others laugh, while I thought about it.

Half of what Rona said is true..... Why was she giving her hand too easily? Did she lose her dignity or something? She doesn't look like someone with little dignity or ego though.... or was she just trying to play me?

"Anyway whatever reason it is, I think it's better to agree, Javier." Carl said after a ton of laughter.

"Why so?" I asked.

"Though it is wrong to get anywhere near marriage with someone you don't love. I'm pretty sure, it's the best route you can take right now." Carl said, with a smile. I looked at Lonnie and Rona, only to find them smiling while nodding.

"If I agree.... do you really think we'll be alright?" I asked once again, still unsure of it.

"Chill down! If it goes wrong then we'll save you alright?" He said trying to reassure me that everything will be alright, whatever happens.

I nodded and smiled at them, signing Carl to call Mr. Guevarra and tell him to meet.

"Hey Mr. Guevarra, you see. Javier wanted to meet with you, he wanted to tell you something." He said on the phone, glancing at me with a smile, which I returned.

"Hey, Javier have you already thought about it? Please say you did." The first words I heard as I came in the café Mr. Guevarra, asked me to meet in.

"I did, and I agree...." I answered, as I saw him sigh in relief.

"Good. Because, now we have to get married." Another person said, as this person sat beside me. I looked beside me surprised.

"Wait what? Yhana, I thought it's just an engagement?" I asked. This is definitely not what we talked about after all.

"Yeah. But you took way too long to decide and everyone's literally ranting and nagging at us, asking when will this 'marriage' take place." Ms. Yhana explained, rolling her eyes at me and looking at Mr. Guevarra, as I did the same, trying to find answers in his eyes.

"Yes, son, I'm sorry but you have to...." He said while apologetically looking at me.

"Yeah you have to." Ms. Yhana added.

"But why??" I asked panicking. I know that's a stupid question, but come on. Who could think straight at that kind of situation?

"Look. I know this is too much son.... but I promise you, you won't regret it." He added, trying to convince me onto his plan.

"Alright. I'll agree." I answered short and firm, seeing Mr. Guevarra's face light up from my words. I sighed and looked at Ms. Yhana.

"So... What do I do now, Yhana?" I asked.

"Yeah... You have to stay close to me since everyone would think that it's weird to have you far right? So you're moving in our house." She answered nonchalantly, as if she didn't just invite a guy who's a total stranger, to live with her.

"Dear, what do you mean in OUR house? You're moving out of my house." Mr. Guevarra suddenly said, making the both of us divert our eyes to him.

"What do you mean?" We both asked.

"I bought you two a house. You'll live with each other. Alone." He answered....... with a smile........
