Two months later
"H-hello" Vince said into phone at 3 AM
He had a sleeping Dani on his chest. "Mama slow down. What happened?" He said
"There's been a car accident. Both your dad and brother are gone. They passed away this morning. The company the family we all need you to come home baby. We need you here to run it." Amelia said
Vince couldn't move he was in such shock. But he felt Dani move closer to him as snuggled him.
"Vincenzo are you there?" Amelia said
"Yes mama..I'll have to call you back later. I have Danica here asleep so can I call you back after I have talked to her." He said
"Of course honey." She said and they hung up.
A few hours later they both had awoken. Vince sat her down as they drank coffee. He explained everything to her.
"I understand that you have to go Vince. If it was me I'd already be on a plane." She said as a tear fell.
"I love you Danica. I don't want to do this but my family needs me back in Italy. And who knows maybe you can visit me one day." He said
She smiled at him. "Yeah I've always wanted to go." She said as she wiped tears.
They spent the rest of the day together she helped him pack his things. Before his red eye flight home they made love to each other for one last time. She drove him to the airport and they said their goodbyes outside the terminal. She cried all the way back to her place till she fell asleep.
She kept herself locked away in her office with her headphones in again. Happy Danica was gone again. Vince let her know he had landed safely which she was glad for. But that didn't stop her broken heart from breaking more.
