Bruised and sore, Marah stood up slowly and carefully from the uncomfortable furniture he called a 'bed'. She peered, squinting slightly, around the dark room she was locked in; trying to adjust her eyes to the dim light. Sensing a sharp pain in both of her lower legs, she knew she wouldn't be able to walk a step outside of this place. Feeling a wave of devastation, she felt tears fall down her dry skin; the weight of this whole week hit her all at once. There wasn't any way to get out of this room, was there?

Meanwhile, the person that had taken her away was walking mindlessly around the lower section of the house they were stuck in. Clicking his teeth continuously, almost like a nervous tic as he waited for ideas to pop into his robotic head. He sighed in defeat. He had just brought away this girl from her life of luxury and it was taken away from her just overnight. How would a guy like him be able to handle a situation like this?

The pain-stricken girl in the upstairs bedroom used all the remaining strength left in her legs to push herself upwards to stand up. Marah had no idea who or what was in this house she was also in so she tried to keep her voice down to a minimum so that she wouldn't attract any attention. She gritted her teeth, trying not to make any noise of pain. Looking up at the room, she noticed it would only take maybe 5 steps to get to the door, maybe more in her state. Would it even be worth it though? He could come out at any moment.

Marah's Pov:

I should just do it...I tried telling myself that over and over and eventually brought my left leg forward, then my right with a wince. 1 step. I held on to the bed stand for support, bringing my legs towards the door again. 2 steps. Pressing my teeth tight together, I lifted my legs over again. 3 steps. Feeling tears start to form in my eyes, I managed to bring myself to walk one more step before my balance started to fail me. 'No! No! No! No!' I cried out. Forgetting I couldn't make any noise, I clasped my hand over my mouth with a terrified gasp. Since I let go of the bed stand, my balance got worse and I toppled over and landed on to the wooden floor with a loud bang. I instantly pressed my ear on to the floor, listening for any movement from downstairs. I even held my breath to not make any more noise. I heard heavy footsteps coming upstairs. Coming to me. 'Oh god'.
