We pull up to the station next to my bike. I quickly grab my clothes and change in the back seat, ditching the trench coat I was wearing on the way here.

"So..." Dick trails off as I sit on my bike.

"Don't," I do the same as he did earlier. "We can just forget these past twenty-four hours ever happened and never have to deal with this again." I wait for a rebuttal but look up to find him lost in thought. I turn the keys to bring her to life and... nothing. I do it again, and another. "No, no, no!!"

"I think it's dead," He states the obvious.

"No shit," I look up at him. "Damn it!" I hop off and kick it.

"Well, good luck with that," He renders, taking off to go inside.

"What! Nuh-uh. Take me to get it fixed," I protest.

"I'm already late," He calls over his shoulder, "Call someone." Who would I call that could help me anyways? Gotham is hours away, I'm stuck here either way.

"I broke my phone!" I yell. This can't be happening to me.

"Damn it," He says to himself and stops, "Okay," He calls out full volume.

"Okay?" I repeat.

"I get off work at 10," He informs. I have to entertain myself til then? Surely there's a bar around here somewhere. "I'm gonna regret this," He whispers to himself again, "You can come in." My idea was far better, but I guess this'll have to do. What other option is there? I guess I could look through his partners stuff? Oooo, now we're talking. After the inner battle with myself for a few seconds, I begrudgingly catch up.

He seems a little surprised I chose the smartest option. Him and me both. "Alright," He hesitates, "Some ground rules: Don't touch anything, don't talk to anyone-"

I cut him off, "I got it, I got it! All I'm going to do is search through your partners old files, okay? I don't need a list of rules."

"Mhmmm."

We arrive on his floor to find all the detectives gathered around a screen. A man standing in front of everyone else speaks, "Are you guys sure it's them?" Probably the captain.

"Absolutely Captain," A male replies as Dick and I stop at the back. Called it.

Another one speaks up, "We called Gotham P.D. He hasn't been seen for almost two years. Disappeared they said." Ah, I instantly know who they're talking about now.

"They thought he might be dead," One of the females adds.

"And her?" Captain asks.

"She hasn't been spotted in a few days," The man who first gave intel answers, "They didn't think anything of it, thought she was still in town." She wishes.

"Why come here? Why Detroit?" The Captain asks.

"The weather," Dick finally speaks up. Everyone chuckles. I scrunch up my face looking around, these people thought that was funny?

"Let's just hope to hell they're just passing through. You know the problems that these masks bring with 'em. Painted freaks. Psychopaths in drag. Ah, we don't need that shit. We got our own regular problems here. Come on guys. Back to work," The Captain rants.

Everyone disperses after that letting Dick and I finally look at the screen, even though it's clear who they were talking about, getting the view of a zoomed-in shot of Robin and Tamer on the left and the fight in action on the right.

"I look good," I admire my work as Dick just stares. This is gonna be a long day.

I've had no luck in finding anything all day, I need a break. What I really need is a stiff drink and to get out of this hellhole. It's been nothing but stuffy cops, cheap coffee, and phones ringing all day, it's a never ending annoyance. I splash cold water on my face before exiting the bathroom.

I come out just as Dick walks by with a cup in his hand. Oh great. I instantly change directions and go to pick up my pace until a hand grabs my upper arm. "Hands off the merchandise." I pull out of Dick's grasp.

"I've been looking for you for the past ten minutes!" He scolds, attempting to be quiet, nodding to a couple people who walk by giving us a strange look.

"I was just peeing, damn! Can't a girl have a bathroom break?" I roll my eyes at him.

"Not when you sneak off without telling me at my workplace," He retorts.

"Yes sir," I salute him.

He shuts his eyes for a moment. "Let's go," He nods his head towards his desk.

"No, I'm bored," I argue. And being around him makes me feel like I'm breaking out in hives.

"Bored huh?" He says while looking at the blonde that helped me yesterday walking by. He steps towards to her, "Hey, uh, any luck on that Robin and Tamer thing?" Not bad.

The blonde, not important enough for me to remember her name, turns around, "Wait, are you talking to me? Is everybody else dead? Because I clearly must be the last person on Earth for that to happen." Oh please. I don't have the patience for this.

I step around Dick, "Yeah, I wanted to know the latest before I head back home."

She looks surprised to see me. "My apologies for that little outburst, I didn't know you were back."

Before I can reply a voice calls out, "Hey Grayson." We all move our attention to a lady. "You got that thing for helping kids, right?"

I burst out laughing, "There another Grayson around here?"

Dick gives me a stern look. "Let's go," He quietly demands and we follow the cop. She gives him intel on the way to an interrogation room, leaving us when we stop at a door.

"Stay here," He tells me.

"No."

His jaw ticks. I smirk knowing he won't stop me and push past him to go in. There's a pale teenage girl, with purple streaked hair, bold choice, sitting at the cold-steel table.

After a few seconds of grumbling, Dick steps in. "Hi, there. How you doing?" He shuts the door behind us. "Word on the street is you like playing baseball with bricks and cop cars," He smiles at her, throwing away his coffee cup.

I take a seat on the opposite side of the table. "Niceee," I chuckle.

"Really?" Dick whispers sternly to me as he takes a seat on my right. I shrug innocently. "I'm detective Dick Grayson," I clear my throat not wanting to be left out. If I'm gonna be here I should get to be included. He sighs, "And this is detective Alison Kyle. You wanna talk about what happened?"

"It's you two," The girl looks at us in awe. Dick and I glance at each in confusion. Does she think she knows us?

"I'm not sure if you-" He starts off but is abruptly cut off.

"You're the boy from the circus and the girl from the alleyway and parking garage," The girl says to us. My whole body tenses up and Dick's smile fades. This complete stranger just listed off the places Dick's parents and my mom died.
