"Ain't it funny?
'Cause now there's nothing left but small talk"

Small Talk-Katy Perry

Hank and Dawn, in their Hawk and Dove gear, are punching and kicking guys left and right. Dick and I let them have their fun for a few before 'Robin' and 'Tamer' join them.

We jump down from the roof onto a dumpster, Dick doing a twist flip and I kick my legs out to knock down one of the guys running towards us. Dick instantly punches down the one that came at him. Hank and Dawn glance over at us, giving us a subtle nod before we get to work.

Dick does a spinning heal kick as I grab one of them by the back of their head and take us both down to the ground, slamming their face on the asphalt. Hank and Dawn continue punching, Dick pulls out his staff, swinging it around causing everyone to step back, and I get my whip out, snapping it left and right.

Dawn throws one into a pile of boxes, Dick does a cartwheel back-handspring to avoid being grabbed, and two guys charge towards me. I drop down into the splits, wrap my whip around one of their feet and send him crashing into the second guy. Finally all four of us get everyone to the ground and I relish in our victory.

Hank turns to Dick and I, "You're late, Boy Wonder, Girl Chaos," He smarts off, using one of our many nicknames, as he kicks the guy that's at his feet one last time.

"You know they always like to make a dramatic entrance," Dawn smiles.

"True," Dick smiles.

"I always like to make sure all eyes are on me of course," I wink playfully.

"I thought your boss said to stay away from us," Hank comments, referring to Bruce telling Dick and I to stop hanging around and fighting with them.

Dick scoffs, "We didn't tell him."

"Like that'll stop him from knowing," I chuckle knowingly, we're definitely getting an ear full when we get home.

"Oh, so what is this, night out with the bad kids?" Hank shoulder checks Dick as he passes by him.

"Something like that," Dick shrugs it off, looking over to Dawn and I.

Hank sure knows how to sour my mood. I turn around, "Don't pat yourself on the back too much buddy, it's us who are the 'bad kids'." Dawn chuckles to herself at our banter.

Back to Present

It's finally morning so we decided to make a pitstop at a diner in Ohio. I come out of the bathroom as the waitress stops at the booth Rachel and Dick chose. I hear them talking and she starts pouring a pot of black coffee as I approach.

"You want a hot chocolate or something?" Dick offers to Rachel.

"Just coffee. Black," She absentmindedly answers while staring out the window.

"I bet they have marshmallows," Dick adds.

"I'm not a kid, okay?" Rachel snaps at him.

"Really?" I come up behind the waitress, startling everyone, "Your age says otherwise. Cool it with the attitude, k? You wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for our help. Remember?"

I'm not gonna waste my time here AND have to be around Dick for her to act like a brat. Dick's eyes widen a little.

"Um, sorry," Rachel mutters, going back to looking out the window.

"Same for the young lady," Dick nods to the waitress. She pours another and leaves so I can sit. Dick slides over for me and I see a cup waiting for me. 'What's this'? I gesture. "Right, I ordered you chocolate milk- uh if you still like that," He says hesitantly.

I stare at it for a moment. He use to always make it for me.

I huff plopping down next to him. "You remember," I mutter.

"How could I forget?" He retorts.

"Right, how could you?" I bitterly fire back before taking a sip. His is much better, but of course I'm not gonna tell him that. I drink it anyways since I haven't had it in so long. Mostly just drink alcohol now, oh and water. 'Water is good for you, Master Kyle' Alfred preaches. And Jason did introduce me to Red Bull's recently. Speaking of... wonder how many times he's tried to text or call me?

"Um, my mom didn't like me to drink coffee," Rachel interrupts my thoughts, dumping a shit ton of sugar in her cup.

Dick chuckles, "Sweet tooth, huh?" She ignores him, proceeding to stir with her spoon. He tries a different approach, "Rachel, has anything like, like what happened, ever happened before?" He refers to last night events, more specifically to the man on the floor in a pool of black liquid.

"No. Not like that," She actually gives us a straight forward response, "I didn't mean to kill that guy." Yeah? Well, we all say we don't mean to do a lot of things, but here we are.

"How did you kill that guy?" Dick's voice brings me back to the discussion.

"Ooo yes, do tell," I lean forward, the conversation finally getting good.

She drinks her coffee to avoid the question. Offfff course. Just when we were getting somewhere.

"We're gonna go see some old friends of Alison and I's," Dick decides to leave the killing thing alone for now. "They're safe. They'll give us a place to lie low for a second, get our heads together, figure out what to do next. You're scared. I get it, we get it. But sometimes there's no time to be scared."

"No we don't. Don't let fear control you, you control it. Otherwise you're letting someone or something have an advantage over you. And that's when you lose," I tell her as she listens intently. Dick gives me a pointed look for my bluntness. I shrug innocently, we all know my advice was better.

Dick jumps back in after a moment, "The point is, no one's gonna get you. Okay? I promise," He assures.

"Where else am I going anyway?" Rachel not so jokingly jokes.
