"Well, there's a surprise" Arthur said.

"I did that girth up myself" Merlin said, pointing at the direction the horse ran off to.

"Well, I think that might have been the problem!" Arthur shouted frustrated.

"It wasn't my fault" Merlin denied.

"Would you like me to fit the girth properly for you, Sire" asked a voice behind the both of them making the two turn around and saw that it was the man that ran off to get the horse.

"Thank you" Arthur said.

"It's an honour to be of service to the Prince" the man said with a small bow.

Arthur turned to Merlin raising his eyebrows at him "An honour. Do you hear that Merlin?" Arthur said, his ego building up Merlin slightly turned his head away from the future king and rolled his eyes scoffing.

"Allow me the honour of brushing your clothes down" the man said, doing just that. Once he was done he spoke to Arthur again "Anything else I can do for you, sir"

"Well, you can give Merlin here a kick up the backside" Arthur said laughing a bit as the man chuckled, Merlin how ever was not amuse.

"I wouldn't wish to deprive you of the pleasure, sir." the man said.

"Ha! What's your name?" Arthur asked the man.

"Cedric" he pause and continued "I've come to Camelot in search of work." Cedric finish.

"Good. You can be a beater on the hunt. We're short of a man or two" Arthur said as he walks away.

"You're too kind sire," Cedric called back with a bow.

Merlin picked up one of the beaters he had set down before and walked towards him. " Here, You'll need a beater" he 'accidentally hit him in the stomach with a beater. Cedric doubled over. "Oh, sorry" Merlin said sheepishly smiling a bit as he walk away leaving Cedric standing alone. Cedric glared Merlin's retreating back figure.

Back in the physician's chamber, An old man was flipping through a book when Merlin walked in looking upset.

"What's wrong?"The  old man asked.

" I saved Arthur's life, someone else got the credit. Just the usual. What are you doing Gaius?" Merlin said.

"I found this inscription on the sceptre" Gaius said making Merlin look over the old man's shoulder.

"What language is that?" Merlin asked.

"I don't know. Sigan would have known many languages." Gaius said as he gave out a sigh.

"Sigan?" Merlin asked confuse, "It's his tomb" Gaius answered as Merlin grab a stool and sat on it, "who was he?" Merlin asked. "Merlin, he was the most powerful sorcerer to have lived" Gaius said Merlin then spoke "Really?", "You didn't grow up in Camelot, but for those of us that did, Cornelius Sigan was a figure of nightmare", "Why?" Merlin asked. Gaius sighs "Sigan's powers. He could change day into night, turn the tides, and legend has it, his spells helped build Camelot itself" he said. "What happened?" Merlin asked, "In the end, he grew too powerful and the king at that time ordered his execution" Gaius recounted.
