Chapter Five

*Rose's POV*

I have a huge test in school today, but I'm not going. Matthew has been in a coma for three days. I haven't heard anything from the hospital, but I hope he's okay. All I've done is stay home concealing myself in my thoughts.

I knew that there was something to be done. I pulled my self out of bed and took a shower. I straightened my hair and put on my red MAGCON sweatshirt that Matt gave me the day he kissed me. I wear it sometimes. It reminds me of him. How it felt to be with him.

I also put on black leggings and my red vans.

I grabbed my keys and drove to Carters house.

*skip to Carters house*

I knocked on Carters door and he ran down the stairs to answer.

"Hey baby" Carter said as he leaned over to kiss me. I moved out of the way. I never wanted to kiss Carter again.

"Don't, "hey baby" me Carter."

"What is wrong with you today Rose? God you've been acting up lately. c'mon we have to get to school or we'll be late." Carter said with a smirk.

"I'm not here to go to school with you Carter. I'm here to tell you that we are through. Carter I hate how you treat people like they are dirt under your feet." I was proud that I was finally standing up for myself, And for Matt.

And with that I walked down the stairs, leaving Carter standing speechless in the doorway.

Finally, I don't have to be known as the girlfriend of Carter Reynolds. Just as Rose. That's how I like it. Carter made me feel like I didn't matter much to him.

That's not how I felt when I was friends with Matthew. He made me feel special.

God I want him back.
