Broken: A Matthew Espinosa Fanfiction

Chapter six

*Rose's POV*

I arrived at the hospital. It had been three days since I had seen Matthew. I had no idea what to expect so Im really nervous.

I walked up to the front desk. And saw a kind looking lady with glasses.

"Matthew Espinosa" I told her. She smiled sadly at me. "Oh the poor boy in a coma. He hasn't had a single visitor since he arrived a few days ago. Not even his mother."
Really? Thats strange. His mom doesn't care about him?
"He's in room 236 on the second floor." She said.
"Thank you so much." I replied.
I started for the elevator and pressed the second floor button. I got out and started looking for Matt's room.
I found the room. The small printed letters on the door make me even more nervous. I take a deep breath and walk into the room.

Then I see him. He looks so fragile and pale. His lips are no longer blue like they where on Monday so I guess that's a good start. But he still hasn't woken up. I wish that he would so that I can tell him my plan.
I am going to help him. I have more power that Carter thinks I do. He doesnt know it, but I know his "little secret".
And I will protect Matthew Espinosa if its the last thing I do.
I sat with Matthew for about another hour. I sat there holding his hand and talking to him just like we did when we where younger. It was nice.

Eventually the nurse came in and told me that I had to leave. I said goodbye to Matthew and kissed him on the cheek.

I drove home and since it was already noon I decided to get some lunch. I drove to Taco Bell and ordered my taco. I sat down at a table and started to eat my lunch. I looked down at carving in the table. There was a jagged heart on the table with the initials m+r.
A tear fell from my cheek and landed in the crevice of the heart.
Matt and I had written this when we were in seventh grade. We thought we would be best friends forever. We promised to stick together forever.

And I lied.

I left Taco Bell and started to drive home.

Please wake up Matthew. I miss you.
