"Okay, do you remember the plan?" whispered Emily.
Jamie and Abigail exchanged glances and nodded their heads at each other and then at Emily. They ran down the hallway and then up the steps. Mother Nature was sound a sleep in her bed when the twins crept into her room. They hid next to the dresser while Jamie started blowing air towards her. The gusts of wind were big but completely silent. Jamie blew it harder and harder till Mother Nature and her mattress were floating above her bed frame.
Jamie nodded towards Abigail. Abigail smiled while she pulled out a little jar filled with water. She opened it and poured it out on the floor. Abigail started twisting her hands around and around till the little puddle of water grew bigger and bigger. Before they knew it, they were about waist deep in water. Jamie slowly lowered Mother Nature and her mattress on to the body of water. They giggled as the watched her flow out of her room and down the steps. Jamie and Abigail glided with her as she journeyed down the steps, across the living room and into the yard.
"Alright. Get ready. She's about to blow," Emily said while she ran out the front door with Grace.
The twins didn't make it too far outside without Mother starting to toss and turn. Jamie and Abigail looked at each other and hid in a tree while Mother Nature flowed down their yard a bit farther. Mother Nature rolled over on her back and covered her eyes blocking out the sun. She laid there motionless before quickly sitting up straight. She sat up so fast that it made her mattress wobble and she tipped right into the water. Jamie and Abigail looked at each other with horror flashing through their eyes.
The sky started to churn with dark clouds. Thunder crashed in the distance. The twins looked up at the sky before sprinting back towards the castle. Emily and Grace nodded at each other and sprinted off into the woods. Mother Nature resurfaced and gasped in shock. She looked towards the castle and started walking towards it. As she walked, water started swirling around her and disappearing into the atmosphere. The sky grew a darker grey. She made it to the steps of the castle dripping in water. Mother breathed in and quickly let out the air she just sucked in before entering the castle and slamming the front door.
Emily and Grace dashed towards a huge hill that was in the middle of the woods. When they finally reached the top, lightning started lighting up the sky. They stared at the sky with amazement.
"It so beautiful but deep down I know Abigail and Jamie are probably getting the biggest whooping of their little lives right now," giggled Grace.
"I know right," smirked Emily, "They're helping me out big time though. I don't know how I'm going to repay them back. Hopefully they don't rat us out."
They looked around the land looking for anything unusual, but nothing caught their eye. The storm still raged on. Lightning was now touching the ground, and the wind grew stronger.
"I'm going to guess Mother stopped yelling at them, and is just letting this storm happen. What they did wasn't to bad," stated Emily still looking around.
"Yeah. The kingdom hasn't had a good storm in a while. Maybe I should go down the hill and see if anything is happening down there," replied Grace starting to walk down the hill.
Emily agreed and kept an eye open. Something started to feel strange. She felt the hair on the back of her neck and arm stand up. Emily was just about to look up when something tackled her to the ground. Then the atmosphere around her became extremely hot and bright. As fast as it became bright, that's how fast it left. She opened up her eyes to find a body on top of her. She quickly wiggled herself out and sat up to see who it was.
"It's you!" Emily exclaimed.
The man with the dirty blond hair looked up at her, "Were you looking for me?"
"No. Well yes. Maybe," babbled Emily.
Grace came running up the hill, out of breath, "Are you okay!? You were just struck by-" Grace pauses for a second when her eyes met his, "lightning."
The man looked over at Grace as she made her way over to Emily, "Did your parents ever tell you to not play around during a thunderstorm?"
"Yes they did. Thank you for saving me," Emily said shyly, "I was actually looking for you."
He looked over at Emily with a surprised look, "You were looking for me? Why?"
Emily took a couple steps away from Grace, "We've met before actually. You're the guy that broke into our arena and gave me a scar on my side from your stupid whip."
He smiled a bit before letting out a little laugh, "That's where you're from. I thought you looked a bit familiar. What do you want from me?"
"I wanted to ask you about your power. You have the ability to create and bend lightning. That's incredible," Emily gleefully stated.
"Thanks. It took me forever to master it but I was able to do it. Nobody in my family knows how to bend. I'm the only one throughout all the generations in my family with a power."
Grace's mouth dropped, "That's amazing."
"I know we just met and kind of didn't get off to a great start but I would love to learn more, maybe even try bending lightning," Emily shyly mumbled.
He walked over to Emily till they were inches away from each other, "You want to bend lightning? What makes you think you could do it? It's a whole different ball game compared to bending fire."
"I'm willing to try it, if you're willing to teach it," Emily stated smirking.
He looked over at Grace and then back at Emily before sticking out his hand, "I'm Adam."
She smiled gripping his hand and shaking it, "I'm Emily."
