"Ariana turn off yo phone dude" Dave spoke into my neck.
"Nooo papa leave me alone. I'm sleepy. You do it." I said pushing myself into the covers.
"Shit." I said after realizing what I said. I sat up and looked to see if he noticed when I saw he was staring at me I huffed.
"I'm so sorry. It just came out and I'm still half sleep it won't happen again Dave. I promise." I told him grabbing my phone.
"Whatchu talking bout ari?" He questioned laying his head on my lap.
"I called you papa. I know you don't like it and you don't want me to call you that. I understand that but it just slipped out." I told him rubbing his scalp.
"Ian say I didn't like it. I said I don't care if you called me that." He stated.
"So why did you ask why i wanna call you that?" I questioned him.
"I just wanted to know boo." He told me very lowly while moving my hand from his head and sitting up.
"Oh ok. Was I bothering you just now?" I asked.
"No but I'm tryna listen to you but you doing that is only putting me to sleep." He said laying his head on my shoulder.
"Oh I'm sorry. If you wanna go back to sleep you can. Sorry for waking you up." I told him.
"Lemme ask you something?" He spoke turning his body and laying at the foot of the bed so I can see his face.
"Wassgud?" I asked him.
"What happened in yo last relationship?" He asked looking me in my eyes.
"What you mean?" I questioned him.
"Like look I know I don't know you personally but I know you wasn't a shy person. Now it's like you get scared to ask or talk about stuff. It's like it's a switch in your head and you don't know but you flip it on and off a lot. When the switch is down it's like you real vulnerable and you don't know your worth and you let people walk all over you. But when it's up you know you a bad ass bitch and you show it and you don't take shit from nobody. So I'm guessing some time during your relationship with herb you developed the switch." He explained leaving me shocked. Just read the fuck outta me. Ion too much like that.
"You're right. Herb used to tell me I talked about certain stuff too much. He didn't like a lotta stuff that I liked. He use to get mad when I called him names. I was actually really vulnerable while I was with herb because a lot was happening in my life. I was pregnant and I didn't know who the father of my child was. It wasn't because I was sleeping with everybody it's because I was cross-faded when it happened. So herb thought it was ok to go around telling people that he got me pregnant and I didn't like it." I paused trying to wipe my tears while doing so I felt Dave pull me on his lap.
