Jungkook's pov
I walked out of the café and down the alleyway with an uncontrollable smile on my face. No matter how much I tried to normalize it, the corners of my lips always lifted up from even the slightest thought of that girl.
Park Roseanne.
What a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl. Just thinking about the way she smiled at me when she walked into the café sent tingles to my stomach all over again. Her honey-like voice, her bubbly personality, her alluring smile, it was all tattooed into my brain.
She was an angel, wasn't she?
With a smile still resting on my face, I walked out of the alleyway and turned on one of the busy sidewalks in Seoul. The setting sun, that was a nice shade of orange, kissed my skin gently as I started my commute to my apartment.
Although I was nothing but an ant to this big city, I felt so special, just because of this one girl I hadn't even spoken to. Out of all the people in this world, I was one of the the lucky ones that got to see her today. Along with that other guy from the café—
Who was he, anyways? He's there quite often as well. The guy was one of the few people that had visited the small café more than once, and he always just sits there, mysteriously. He seems to favor quietness since he rarely spoke to me or Seokjin Hyung. The guy seemed like the observant type, always watching your every move. It kinda creeped me out, but I've been taught better than to judge others.
I know little to nothing about that man, besides the certainty that his name is Taehyung. I've heard Seokjin Hyung say it plenty of times, and it's always written on his coffee cups.
*Tap Tap*
A tap on my shoulder startles me and immediately turns me around. To my surprise, one of my closest friends was on the end of the arm that had reached out to me. I looked down at the boy, who's never looked this short before. Then I realized my black combat boots are making me look and feel like a skyscraper.
"Jungkook-ah, where are you off to?" he said with his flat voice. The hue of the orange setting sun reflects on his skin as he dusts some lint off his shoulder.
"Oh, Yoongi Hyung! I was just heading back home from a café. I just finished my studies." I respond to the shorter boy in front of me as I held onto the straps of my backpack.
"I'll walk with you. I needed to get out of the house anyways." He attempts to swing his arm around my shoulder, but struggles because of our height difference, and so he immediately brings it back down.
"Is everything okay at home?" I try to approach the topic with caution, knowing he hates speaking about his life inside his house. His temper is as short as him, but I know he has a sweet spot for me hidden somewhere inside of that empty soul of his.
I do what I can to help him out. Whether it's letting him crash at my place for a few days, maybe even weeks, or bailing him out of tough situations, I'll always be support to him. I'll always be someone for him to call in the toughest of situations, and I know he's there for the same.
"Hey, I told you not to worry about that, okay? Focus on your own life, and think of me as some side character in your story." He flashes me a gummy smile, and although it looks genuine, the eyes of a stranger could never notice the secrets hidden within it. "So what happened with you today, or were you a bore like always?"
Recollections of the sweet young girl from the café rush through my head like a gushing waterfall, and a smile creeps it's way onto my lips. The feeling of butterflies fluttering in my stomach assures my interest in her. I may be just a simple boy, but I am not naive enough to be blind towards whatever feeling is wrapping it's finger around my heart.
