When I woke up this morning to my alarm clock I felt lighter. I think the visit from Kevin really needed to happen.
"Dad!" I yelled out needing assistance to get out of my bed and get dressed. He ran in and helped me get ready for school.

When I got to school I rolled my eyes knowing what was ahead. I got to my first class and was helped into my seat by my aid. Each class was tedious and boring. The only thing I wanted was to be hanging out with Kevin. He was all I could think about. The thought of his lips against mine rattled in my head and prevented me from learning a thing.

When I got to my 6th period class I was glad to see Jason was not in school.
"Hello." I heard a small voice say. I was sure she was not talking to me so I just continued to think about Kevin, but then she spoke again.
"My name is Bella, and yours is Matthew." she explained with a gentile giggle. I slowly turned my head to look at who was talking to me. When I laid my eyes on her I was surprised at her beauty. She had very light skin and a tiny body. She only looked about 5' tall, and she had a very narrow frame. She had blue eyes and hair so red it looked like fire.
"Um, hi." I said a bit puzzled.
"I know you don't know me. No one does, that's cause' I'm new here." She explained never braking her smile. Her teeth were perfectly straight and they seamed to twinkle as she spoke, along wit her eyes.
"Oh?" I said not wanting to be bothered, even by a kind person like her.
"Well, you see, since I have been here I haven't really made any friends so I just thought I would talk to you." She explained. She was a bit too perky and happy for my taste.
"You don't want to be friends with me." I replied, turning my head back around.
"Why not?" She asked right away. I turned my head back around so I looked her straight in the eye.
"I have issues." I said not caring about judgment.
"We all have issues." she protested, still smiling.
"Look, I have the type of issues that a pretty happy little girl like you would probably cringe if she knew what they were." I explained hopping that would shut her up.
"I'm anorexic." She said still continuing to smile. I took another look at her body surprised at what she just confessed. Now that I look I realized that she wasn't just petit, she was a skeleton. I was so absorbed in myself that I didn't even realize she looked like a starving child.
"So what are your issues?" She asked slightly shifting closer to me as if the millimeter that she moved would make her hear me better.
"Okay, Bella, if you really want to know. I am an abused gay kid who was recently in a car accident with his mother and lived, only having to deal with the pain of feeling guilty for causing the crash that killed his mother." I explained in a sarcastic tone. For one second Bella's constant smile vanished, but it quickly came back.

"Wow. Like I said, we all have issues." she said as she winked at me.
"So why don't you eat Bella?" I asked wanting to project the attention onto her instead of me.
"Well I was raped last year and I just lost all of my self confidence and turned to cutting, but when that didn't satisfy me I just didn't allow myself to eat." she explain amazingly maintaining her cheerful attitude.
"Why are you so happy all the time if all that crap you just told me happened to you?" I asked honestly curious.
"Why waste life being sad all the time. Everyday is a gift." the words she spoke hit me hard and caused me to gasp. All at once all my emotions took over again and tears steamed down my face. She took her shaky skinny fingers and whipped away my tears and smiled that beautiful smile of hers.

The next day in school the only thing I was looking froward to was seeing Bella. I knew Kevin was basically of limits for the next two days so he wasn't even in the picture for the time being. I liked Bella, she was very straight forward and kind hearted from what I could tell. Though when I got to my 6th period class today I got instantly stif. There sitting flirting with Bella was Jason. He was leaning on her desk and trying to hit on her. As I got closer and unexpected thing happened. Jason reached out to touch Bella's face, but the moment he laid a hand in her she screamed and decked Jason right where Kevin had hit him two days earlier. Jason cupped his mouth and cussed under his breath. I would have laughed but when I looked over at Bella all I wanted to do was comfort her. She was sitting on the ground next to her desk bawling and rocking back and forth.
"What the fuck did I do you crazy bitch?!" Jason yelled as she cried into her knees.
"Bella come here." I said in a calm voice. She got up and ran over to me. I held out my arms for her. She was trembling and she had these sort of bugs eyes.
"Bella look at me. You are ok, he is just an ignorant idiot who doesn't know his lefts from his rights, he means no harm to you honey." I said trying to calm her down. I had a feeling she was having this reaction due to her past with guys.

I watched as the color started to return to her face. She lowered herself to me and embraced me with her tiny arms. I held her until she stopped trembling.
"What the hell! Why do the gay guys always get the hotties?!" Jason yelled as he chucked a piece of crinkled up paper at the back of one of his jock friends head.
"Thank you." she whispered in my ear. At that moment I knew I had made a new friend. Bella.
