Episode 2 part 1

[Jade blinks, and lifts her head a bit, only to collapse]

Dezzy: Wakey wakey sleepy head.

Jade: uuuuugggghhhh

Dezzy:(laughs) you broke your arm, not your head- I know you're just being lazy

Jade: (drags herself up) I feel so loved.

Dezzy: yep! Come on!

Jade: Do I have to get up?

Dezzy: YES! It's like 3:00 in the afternoon!

Jade: Fine, fine.( swings her legs over the side of the bed, revealing a metal cast)

Dezzy: Red says it'll heal it by tomorrow. So long as you you don't take it off( gives Jade a meaningful look)

Jade: I won't.(huffs)

[Red walks in]

Red: Glad to see you're awake. Just in time for your first lesson. NEVER disobey orders.

[He hands her a small metal cylinder, and she presses a button on the side, causing a screen to be projected.]

«assignment D-42. Sentry duty.»

Dezzy: We don't even get to pick who we're posted with, so I'm stuck with that moody kid Pollo. What's the damage with you?

Jade: I've got...Matt. Who's that again?

Dezzy: no f---(red gives her a look) -reaking fair!! He's super nice. You know he got up this morning before everyone else and brought breakfast to the dorm? I mean I don't even know where the cafe is!

Jade: alright,alright. Pollo isn't THAT bad...

Dezzy: he spent the entire morning on his bunk. He refused to talk to anyone but Kunnan, and didn't move until Red came in to give us our assignments.

Jade: Oh. Uhh I don't know what to say to that. Sorry?

Dezzy: Yea,yea.

Red: the point isn't to like your partner. The point is to understand that a wrong choice could mean death here, and it doesn't matter if you think you can help or not. You are in training, thus everyone is above you. You will listen, or there will be consequences.

Jade: yes sir.

Red: you're due to report at 18:00 Sharp for the night shift.

Dezzy: Report to who?

Red: The head of security. His name is Zavier. Finding him is up to you. If you're late, you will serve night duty tomorrow as well.( turns away) I've got to go talk to the boss.

Jade: Wait, if you're not the boss, than who is?

[ Red keeps walking and leaves them standing in the infirmary without a glance.]

Dezzy: I guess that's that then. Come on, and we'll meet up with the others. Last I knew they were watching the mechas practice.

[They walk to meet the others]

Jade: will we really get those? Mechas, I mean. why would they ever trust us with them?

Dezzy: they have overrides on them, in case something goes wrong. They need as many people as they can get.

Jade: I guess.

Kunnan:(sees them first and waves them over) Hey! Over here!

Dezzy: Hey...

Kunnan: (to jade)what's up with her? she's so quiet.

Jade: she doesn't do well around new people. Shell adjust eventually.

Aaron: we're friendly, I promise. Well I am anyways...

Emily:(appears from behind Luna) hey, I saw you from my mecha!

Jade: what? You have a- who are you, and how can you have a mecha? You can be more than twelve.

Emily: my name's Emily! My father gave me a mecha for my birthday, but....I ran away.

Matt: She's the presidents step daughter. She saw what he was doing to the boys he drafted and ran away.

Emily: mom never would have let him do this. But she died...

Luna: now we take care of her. The attack yesterday was because the president wanted her back. Her mecha actually. It's a prototype keyed specially to her.

Emily: I can fly, and I have guns. I'm not supposed to use them though. Now I have sentry duty with you guys, but Zavier said I could join Reds team if I worked really hard.

Jade: Wait, you know who Zavier is?

Emily: Yea he's super awesome. He's the one that found me. He gave me food and helped me get my mecha here.

Pollo: so who's stuck with who? I know I've got miss silent over there.

Kunnan: like you can say anything- you've hardly said two words to anyone since we got here.

Luna: (interrupts hurriedly) I've got Kunnan.

Jade: Me and Matt

Emily: I'm with Aaron! I'm sure this can be fun! We get to stay up all night!

Matt: where's Piper? Doesn't she have to do this?

Luna: I don't know, actually. I think she's working in the infirmary.

Aaron: Yea because she thinks she's better than us and doesn't want to get her hands dirty.

Luna: She's not like that, it's just...

Matt: I bet she went to a super expensive school for rich people.

Jade: it's a wonder someone that well off would be here

Luna: guys, it's not-

Kunnan : STOP! We don't know anything about her. We can't just assume that she's a terrible person. Half of us haven't even known her for longer than a week.

Luna: She's not a bad person....she's my sister.

[Moment of silence]

Jade: ...oh. I'm sorry..

Luna: She's comes across that way because she's afraid that she won't fit in. When we were in top quarter she was considered poor. Now she can be somebody because she has friends in high places.

Pollo: why are you guys even here?

Luna: they drafted our dad. Our mom was sent to the front as a nurse, and we were kicked out of top quarter. It was either here or the poor district, and I hate the stupid president for what he's done...

Pollo: so in short, you're too good for the poor district.

Kunnan: Pollo, shut up! Luna, if you or your sister ever need a place, find a man named "pops" ask anyone. He'll take care of you.

Luna:(quiet) thank you.

Jade: we should find out where this Zavier guy is. We only have an hour until we need to be at our posts.
