~Sugar High baby~
13 years ago:
A scream of laughter filled the mansion as the happy toddler kicked her chubby legs on the air in her crib, while her cot hanging toy, pulling back her toes and rolling back and forth.
The 11-year-old boy rushed towards his baby sister's bedroom, with the thought that she was hurt, but instead what he saw was a wide, toothless, gummy smile on her face, and leftover giggles were escaping her mouth.
Behind him were trailing Chris and Aiden, rubbing the sleepiness out of their eyes. It was currently around 2 am in the night and everyone else was asleep. The three other younger boys were fast asleep in their cribs while his grandfather and parents were working in the basement. Nothing could be heard when someone was in the basement, especially since the bedrooms were on the second floor. So that means that the brothers were responsible for the baby.
"What's wrong Neffie?" Chris scooped the energetic baby onto his arms and tried to soothe her down by rubbing her back but nothing seemed to work.
Aiden collapsed onto the armchair which was next to the window, yawning and groaning while Noah and Chris were still trying to calm down the giggling baby.
They had been trying to calm her down ever since she and their grandfather returned from their daily walk to the park. Angelo had fed Nef her first chocolate ice cream, which obviously add to her energy for the rest of the day. What he had not thought about tho was that Dylan would give the poor baby a whole bag of jellybeans, which only made her restlessness way worse. That's why she was like that even until that hour.
"Heheheh lollies!" the baby girl cheered, clapping her hands as her brothers groaned in frustration. It was a school night, they needed to wake up early tomorrow. But they would have to forget about that scenario if the young girl did not go to bed anytime soon. Which seemed to be impossible...
"No more lollies Nef. Your belly will hurt" Noah rubbed his sister's stomach so as he could help her relax. What he got as an answer? More giggles.
The three boys looked at each other and rolled their eyes, yawning like a choir. They needed sleep and it was obvious. The whole afternoon they were playing and chasing Nefeli up and down the house. They were exhausted.
"Den! Den! Den! Den!" the baby giggled and bounced on her brother's embrace, making grabby hands for Aiden to hold her, which he obviously did happily.
Aiden held Nef in his hands, throwing her into the air and catching her again, bringing a whole new wave of adorable giggles to the surface and major smiles on their faces.
The boys loved their little sister. She was completing whatever was missing in their hearts. If they would ever lose her, that would be the end of the Agostino brothers. Everything would be ruined and nothing would be the same ever again.
The boys exchanged looks, thinking what they would do to get their little sister sleepy. They had tried everything all day long. They had watched Little Einsteins over and over again at least 4 times, they had played hide and seek and chasing all-around their backyard, they had tickled her till she could not take it anymore and her puffy cheeks were rosy, they had thrown and caught her billions of times, they had even tried to sleep with her, but nothing worked.
"Good job Aiden, now she will never sleep" Noah smacked Aiden's head, only increasing Nef's giggles.
"Ouchy" she giggled and planted a sweet on Aiden's nose.
The boys shared a look, not knowing what else they could do when an idea popped into Chris's head as his eyes widened.
"Bring her to my room, I will be right back!" he exclaimed and bolted out of the room, probably going to the music room to prepare whatever was needed.
