At 8:47am the doorbell rings.
Chiaki drops her last article of clothing in her suitcase, rapidly zips it up, and jogs over the door, flinging it open to reveal Sonia Nevermind. Her long blonde hair is tied back in two tight French braids a red-and-white polka-dotted, open-shoulder sundress and white sneakers. She looks so pretty that the gamer finds herself staring at her for a moment too long.
"Hmm. . .Sonia? You're early."
The princess frowns. "Huh? Whatever are you talking about? In Novoselic, arriving any later to an agreed-upon meeting than thirteen minutes is frowned upon and said person should be punished severely!" She declares.
Chiaki rubs her eyes. "Oh. Well we don't really have that rule here. But thank you for warning me. I was just finalizing my packing. Come on inside for a moment."
Sonia smiles kindly. "Thank you."
The princess steps inside, pulling the door shut behind her as she admires the Nanami household. The gamer goes into the other room, grabs her suitcase and lugs it back into the front hall. "I've got everything. . .I think. Are you ready to go?"
"Yes! It is all loaded into the back of the limo. Let us get going! Step this way, Nana-Chiaki. I would hate to be late."
-
"A private jet?!" The gamer exclaims incredulously, "I've never been in a plane before, let alone an entire private jet!"
Sonia smiles. "I am so glad you like it! Come on, you must see the inside! Ah, wait, here, take my hand, in case anyone is watching."
Nanami shivers delicately. "Y-Yeah. You're right. . .probably. Um, here."
The peach-haired girl takes her hand in her own, smiling at the contact.
'Her hand is so warm. . .'
After the whole boarding the plane ordeal, Chiaki was thrilled to find herself sitting in a red, cushioned chair sipping a virgin Shirley Temple across from a beautiful princess as they soared through the sky.
"This is amazing," She comments, crossing one leg over the other, "Do you really live like this?"
"Well, yes," Sonia answers hesitantly, "The royal family is admired and trusted in our land so we get spoiled a lot. But here I think they're just trying to impress my, um, girlfriend."
The gamer smiles, leaning back in her seat. "Consider me impressed then. I could get used to this."
"Feel free to, I suppose. I mean, you are supposedly my girlfriend, after all."
Chiaki stares out the window, staring in awe at the clouds. "So how long is the flight?" She asks.
"About seven hours," The princess answers, "I apologize it is so far away."
Chiaki sighs, tilting her head back and shutting her eyes, sitting her drink down on a nearby tray. "Well then I can hope you can excuse me taking a little nap," She yawns, "I woke up early to catch this flight, after all."
Sonia smiles. "Certainly, please feel free to do whatever you want. I owe you as much, after all!"
". . .Mmm, good."
-
Chiaki is shaken awake by Sonia the second the plane touches the ground. She sits back up in her seat, rubbing her eyes as she struggles to focus on the blonde princess.
"Mmm. . .already?"
The princess giggles. "Oh my dear Chia-chan, you slept for a good six hours. But that's good, now you'll be adjusted to the time difference. Come on, everyone will be eager to meet the Princess's girlfriend."
Sonia extends a hand, already standing to a grateful Chiaki, pulling her to his feet. She links her arm through hers and begin heading towards the door. The second door opens, they're met with practically thousands of flashing lights, making the princess groan quietly.
"I am so terribly sorry," She mumbles, "I was not expecting word to spread this quickly. Please just smile for the cameras just this once, I will take care of everything after we leave, I promise."
Chiaki gives her a bright smile in return. "I would adore being famous for a week." She giggles.
Together they begin to descend the red staircase pulled up to the private jet, smiling and waving to the cameras and the reporters shouting in all sorts of different languages, Sonia responding to all of them easily, squeezing Chiaki's hand.
"I have spotted our private car," Sonia whispers eventually, "Just follow my lead and keep smiling."
"Nanami Chiaki! How long have you been with the Princess?!" One of the reporters bark at the gamer.
"Has it gotten physical?!" Another shouts.
And then another and another and another.
"How confident are you in your Golden Makango-catching abilities?!"
"Do you think you deserve the Princess?!"
"Who is Top?!"
"Gross." The gamer mutters under her breath as they finally approach the car.
"I know," Sonia agrees, shoving Nanami into the back of the car, "I mean, it is quite obvious that you top."
"Wait, what-"
Sonia clambers in after her, slamming the door and shouting at the chauffeur to start driving.
-
"I am so very sorry!" The Princess apologizes after a while, "I sincerely wasn't expecting that ambush! I hope you weren't too uncomfortable. . ."
Nanami sighs, turning away from watching the buildings whipping by through the window and meeting the Princess's eyes. "It wasn't that bad. . .I think. At least now I know what it's like to be famous."
Sonia chuckles warmly. "Did you enjoy it?"
"I did. . .Your country is very beautiful by the way."
"Thank you! I whole-heartedly agree! But if you like this, then you will adore the palace. Speaking of which, we should be arriving in about a moment. I hope it is up to your standards. . ."
"Sonia, it's a palace, that's more to my liking already. I'll love your home, I'm sure of it. . .well, probably."
"I sure hope so. I hope my parents at least like you. . ."
"I'll do my best to please them as your fake girlfriend." The gamer vows.
Just then, they arrive at some gates that open, pulling up to this huge palace, making Chiaki gawk in amazement.
"Breathtaking." She mutters, making Sonia laugh.
"Well, I hope you are ready then. It is time to go in."
