(Marie's POV)

Time flies by quickly here at Hogwarts, quicker than you can breathe out a breath of fresh air sometimes. It had been three weeks since the little incident in the room of requirement with Draco and a normal person wouldn't go back everyday and be near him but I did because he was stressed about that stupid cabinet and he needed help. We mostly worked in silence, well I tried to speak but he would always dismiss conversation quickly and he always stayed on the other side of the cabinet. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've been following what Pansy tells me to do and it has to be working for the most part because other boys have taken notice. I must have really freaked him out when I tried to kiss him that day.

"Marie babe you look weird just staring at that wall like that." Daya snaps her fingers in front of my face and I finally break my stare. I can't help but to overthink about the whole Draco thing that's not even a thing because he won't get close enough or talk enough for it to be a thing.

I mutter a quick sorry to Daya who was sitting with Hermione and I in the Gryffindor common room on this very boring Saturday afternoon.

"Listen love I don't want to have to say this but maybe you should stop visiting with Draco wherever it is that you two go to." Hermione says and takes my hand in hers to comfort me.

"Yeah what Hermione said because it is clearly no longer fun for you." Daya chimes her opinion in. I exhale deeply and try to take in their words, maybe they had a point about it. These past couple of weeks with him haven't been the best truthfully. I shake my head and agree with them for once instead of trying to argue in his defense, if he's that weirded out by my confusing almost mistake then I shouldn't go back to help him just to make him even more uncomfortable.

"Anyways where is it you guys continue to meet up at again?" I knew Hermione would ask questions about my whereabouts sooner or later, I have nothing to hide it's just a school project.

"Oh just the room of requirement. Dumbledore apparently asked Draco to fix this old useless cabinet for him. Personally I think it's just busy work given to Draco to keep him from bullying the younger years." I tell Hermione and chuckle a little. The only person that joined in my laughing was Daya because Hermione just sat there looking deep in thought.

"That's peculiar, A cabinet you say?" She finally breaks her silence, I nod my head thinking that her reading into it was very weird. It's just a cabinet, if it's a real task and not just busy work then Dumbledore probably just wants to send notices to his allies that are in his little army to be ready for Voldemort if he attacks again. I know Harry, Ron and Hermione frequently meet with Dumbledore to share information they might have and to prepare themselves. Draco is a good guy and probably meets up with Dumbledore as well which is what most likely lead to the task.

I knew I would be ready to lay down my life for my friends whether there is an awkwardness between Harry and I or not, he and I are still friends and I would die for any of my friends. So I will gladly join the fight if it ever comes. Why? Because I will be on the right side of history and I know the people around me will be too.

I should stop thinking about this, the prophecy might not even happen and it's a touchy subject for all of us including Harry. I convinced Hermione to not read far into it because Draco told me himself that Dumbledore was the one who asked him to fix the cabinet.

"Anyways changing the subject back to you Marie, if this whole Draco thing isn't working out how you want it to then I really do think you should try to date Harry. You've known him forever and he likes you a lot, I think you guys would be cute." Hermione wore a smirk as she continued to talk about Harry and I.
