Aleera" I'm going into town for a bit Kris! Do you want anything?" She called to her roommate/ sister.
The blonde poked her head out from the room.
" Ice cream would be awesome." She said with wide eyes.
Aleera raise an eyebrow. " Whatever, it's the middle of winter in New York you weirdo."
Her sister didn't reply but simply stuck out her tongue and retreated into her room.
Aleera put on her thick leather coat and a knit cap , making sure she had her phone in her purse she left the apartment.
Her firey red curls blew around in the wind causing her vision to be obscured until she pulled them up in her cap. Winter was not her favorite season, but it was better than summer for the simple reason it wasn't hot.
Aleera hurried into town, her boots clicking along on the pavement fading amongst the other noises of the city. The city was truly almost deafening.
She walked into her favorite cafe, warmth hit her face warming her cheeks instantly. She sighed, pulling off her gloves and sticking them in her coat. Aleera walked to the counter ordered a simple coffee and soup before sitting down by the fire.
She removed the cap from her head letting her big wild curls fall around her face.
Kristen had similar hair only hers was a dark blonde. Kris took better care of her hair than Aleera did.
But thankfully her hair was manageable and kept itself in loose curls rather than crazy corkscrews.
The waitress set her coffee and soup in front of her snapping her from her thoughts.
She ate her tomato soup quickly, leaving the shop with her coffee in her hands.
She decided she wanted to walk around in the park before starting home.
Aleera enters the park her hands clutching her coffee tightly since it was her only source of warmth in this bitter cold.
She took a drink of the warm drink smiling as it warmed her up a bit.
She was occupying herself with her thoughts as she walked around the park, without looking where she was going she ran into someone.
" Oh my, I'm so sorry." She said looking up.
The man she ran into had slicked back black hair, and pale skin.
She couldn't help but notice how smooth it was.
" No harm done." He smiled, but it didn't reach his green eyes.
They held sorrow and weariness.
Without thinking she asked. " Are you okay? Like I mean you look upset? Are you upset?" She blurted.
" Um." Was his only reply.
Aleera blinked realising what she had said. " Oh. Sorry, I do that a lot. "
" Its alright. It just took me by surprise. Nobody had asked me how my well being was in a very long time." He said slowly thinking about each word.
Aleera frowned.
" Well, that's not good. Are you alright?"
" Depends on your definition on the word." Something see me to shift behind his green eyes, thundered to turn... blue?
He walked away quickly, a briskness in his step that wasn't there before. She heard him mutter something as he left but she couldn't quite catch it.
Aleera shook her head, and quickly headed out of the park. That was just strange.
She walked into her apartment, hurting straight into her room.
