Warning:
I am not a fan of angst, cheating, or betrayal. There won't be any of these in my story.
Don't worry! Our favorite couple will always be safe in their sweet little bubble of love that nothing could break them apart.
*****************************************May gave an exaggerated sigh looking at the people seated on her either sides. On her right was a teenager who has been playing some heavy metal music since the airplane took off, and on her right is a middle aged woman who keeps nodding off on her shoulders. She has been trying hard to keep calm but if this continues she didn't know how she is going to survive the remaning three hours. She closed her eyes keeping a rigid posture, tapping her foot, trying to be placid. All her bitterness faded away in a flash when she thought about him. His mere glances, smiles, touches, and kisses, which could purge you from all sorts of hassle. A faint smile took shape on her lips, thinking about the first day she met him.
May is the only child of her family. Her parents were so immersed in the corporate world being social butterflies, that the little May was always left alone with her babysitters. Looking at her friends, she always wondered how it felt to be constantly showered by the love and care from your parents. When every child had their parent picking them up from school, she was left with her driver. They never had a family dinner or birthday party. The gifts wrapped in shining sheets were left on her study table every year. Her huge house started suffocating her, triggering the introvert in the girl.
Finally, she has enrolled herself in the university, an engineering course which she was never interested in. The only appealing factor was the campus is really far away from her 'home'. She will be moving out to the dorm and will be free.
When every freshman had their parents helping them to move in, she stood alone inside her dorm room. She stepped in to the campus hoping this new start might bring some color to her monochromatic life. Then she met him, who unceremoniously flung her over the rainbow.
Kongpob was everything a girl could ask for; a perfect boyfriend, a dotting friend, a guardian angel for the freshmen. She saw him helping anyone who needed it. She saw Kongpob defending the freshmen against the harsh hazing and the audacious head hazer. She witnessed him taking the punishments upon him for others, yelling that he liked men, running laps on the track, arguing with the head hazer himself. She watched the hero in him when he announced that he will make the head hazer his wife, riling up the senior, paying back all the humiliation that was inflicted on him. She started falling for him when he helped her with the name tag. Every feature of her classmate made her fall for him, her lttle crush turning into something else, that she never received from anyone.
She cherished the warmth that enveloped her when he was around. His subtle glances and touches never escaping her attention. Her final strand was broken on the very day when she saw a furthur feature of her crush, when Kongpob won the star and moon contest. Her heart was skipping multiple beats when he sat beside her while returning from the beach. Her breath hitched when their fingers brushed while she accepted the snacks from him. She was on cloud nine when he laid his head on her shoulders, dozing off.
She never had the courage to face him or bare her feelings to him. How could she? The shackles around her ankles were so strong that she found hard to move towards him, her throat went dry, and lost her voice when he talked to her, surrounded by their friends. She always yearned for some alone time with him so that she can open up . Her prayers were answered when she met him at a family gathering. She was over the moon, grinning like a fool. Later they were introduced to each others' families. Her whole world came crashing down on her, when she learned some ugly truths: Kongpob is her distant family whom she never knew existed, and she was already promised to someone from their social circle.
