"Don't cry because I am leaving, smile because we were together."

Aldwyn's POV
I was the new boy in school. I remember that I was feeling very bad for me because i was new to Dublin, poor at speaking Irish... and a very shy person which I am still now. Student was pointing and whispering about me. And i was becoming more scared. I saw a girl from little distance with a group of friends. Her name was Aibhilin. Aibhilin a very clever and fun- loving girl, and was getting well with everyone, we ended up in being in same classroom.
I introduced myself to everyone as it was the first day and was then took an empty seat two rows away from her. Aibhilin was such a busy girl, with so many friends, that she hardly got a chance to spend time with individual friends. I felt jealous with her. But I was very attracted to her, I tried to conceal my shyness but it was not going. I was too freighted to approach anyone. However about ten minutes later when it was lunch break, I saw Aibhilin to walk over to me. She pulled out the chair and sat down. And said,"hi my name is Aibhilin. Do you mind if I sit with you?" she asked.
I was too shocked to reply.
Maybe she was trying to make me comfortable; she began talking just like I know her forever. She told me stories about our teacher, the principal and some of the class met. By the end of the twenty minutes that we sat tighter, I was actually looking at her and feeling better.
Well the bell rang and she went a sat on her place as it was time to our next period. I felt sad we she walked away, as I had been unable to talk to her the way she talk with me. My heart was aching because I was jealous with such a nice girl.
It was next day, at that I was standing at the window. Aibhilin came to me and say hi to me. "I just wanted to thanks her for talking with me that.... the way she talk no one ever talks with me. When she began to walk away. I chased her and said. "Thanks that you try talk with me and to be nice to me."
From that day we became best friend. The girl just captured my heart. She was loving and caring, compassionate and honest, but all though she has every quality she was very sad inside her too and I didn't understand the reason. We came close day by day and in that process, I met with most sad thing anyone would ever experience. I found out she was diagnosed with a very rare kidney disease and was not responding well of beating her disease. And at about one year later her kidney weren't good anymore and she was going to need a new one. She went on dialysis, I couldn't see her in pain she was going through; I still fill shivered when I think about those days and then her dad ended up giving her one of his kidney.
For next six month, Aibhilin and I were the best friends. Enjoy every day together. We talked, we laughed, and we joked. We were together be it study or a simple hang out.
Children who have organ transplant needs to take lots of medicine to keep their bodies not rejecting the new organ and this medicine also wakens their immune system. So, Aibhilin was having little problem and was often sick. But we were happy because we thought at least she will not leave us and go any more.
But I was wrong thing that. I was at home one Saturday, sitting with my sister and having breakfast. The phone rang and my mom answered it. I could hear her, she was becoming crushed as the talk was proceeding and then she hung up.
When I saw her sad face t knew instantly that something had happen with Aibhilin.
"Is Aibhilin all right? I asked her. My mom replied, "She was diagnosed with pneumonia and this morning she had to rush to hospital. Before I could reach to the hospital
She lost her battle to stay alive. She was just ten years old that time. I remember feeling numb knowing that she passed away. My heart always pinched that I couldn't talk with her in her last moment.
That was the hardest lesson I had ever learn in my life till now.
Not only have I learnt to deal with death but also the importance of a very good friend. And I also found the person i will able to love for ever in my life.
Thank you, Aibhilin for coming in my life. :)
