'beep, beep, beep'  I slammed my fist on the alarm, smashing it to pieces; that was my fourth alarm clock this week. I have to control my strength. I got up for my first day of school. "Isaac, I hope you are awake . Hurry up or you’ll be late for the bus.” Mum shouted up the stairs. I grabbed my favourite sneakers and black jeans and put them on. I went downstairs and got my shirt along the way. I took the freshly cooked toast with jam and ran to the tiny bus stop at the front of my property. I ran my fingers through my thick black hair as I waited for the bus.

I climbed into the large, noisy bus and sat at the back and watched the chaos as the bus stopped at Ethan’s property. Ethan ran towards me, I braced myself as he threw himself into the worn-out seat. “Didyouseethenewslastnight?” Ethan asked rapidly,

“What” I said not paying attention.

“Did…you…see…” Ethan started.

“Say your words at human speed please,” I begged

“Did you see the news last night?” Ethan replied tired.

“About what?”

“The Bank explosion,” Ethan responded

“No, I was doing other stuff” I replied in a whisper. My mind filled my head with violent images of last night.

“Guess who?” A female voice asked behind me covering my eyes. “I think it might be Charlie” I said turning to face her. I gave her a hug then I saw her brother, Luke, smiling at me. I quickly broke the hug when she touched my right shoulder. Ethan, Charlie and I raced to our form class.

At lunch we went to the library and discussed what we did over the holidays. I soon lost interest and zoned out only to be filled with the memory of last night. I remembered James ( my brother), telling me he was going to sleep over at Hamish’s Place. I knew he was lying so I followed him. James ran into the woods, I hid behind a tree I couldn’t see him so I got out of my hiding spot, then I got attacked by a wolf. “Isaac!” Charlie was shaking me. I realised that I felt was my shoulder as Charlie shook me, not the memory. I looked at Charlie then at Ethan. I bolted out of the library with lightning speed. Luke tried to stop me but with my the speed I was going, we ended up tackling. “What’s wrong?” Luke asked with concern.

“Nothing” I growled and walked  off. I got up the stairs before I got tackled again this time I got picked up by a larger figure and thrown into the closest classroom. “What are you doing?” the figure asked with frustration. “James, where were you today? You weren’t on the bus and you weren’t in form.” I started gasping at the pain of my shoulder. “That still hasn’t healed?” James asked with surprise.

“What doing you think it happened last night,” I said then realised what I had just said.

“Why did you…” James started staring at me.

“What?” I asked with anger in my voice. “Your eyes… they’re glowing green” he informed me. James came closer and threw me through the window.Thud.
