“James, you’ll be late for school” Our dad yelled across the house.
“I don’t wanna go school” James’ five year old body protested. That’s when I realised I was having an old memory of the day James went to school for the first time, the day our dad disappeared.
I woke-up to a bright light in my eyes. I threw myself over the bed and threw-up. “Isaac!” It was James I saw his shoes under the pile of vomit. “Sorry” I murmured as I lied back down. “What happened?” I asked “Where’s Dad?” I asked trying to look around.
“He’s gone, Isaac left ten years ago,” James told me.
“Where’s Dad, where is my daddy he’s picking me up. Where Daddy?” I looked around trying to get up, James pushed me down. “Isaac, Dad left when you were three, how old are you?” James asked with concern.
“THREE” I said holding four fingers up. I blacked out again.
This time I woke up to someone carrying me. “Lu…Lucifer?” I asked quietly.
“No you idiot, it’s Charlie” Charlie said quickly. I jumped out of her arms.
“I don’t know you. Mummy told me strangers are dangers,” I told her. I ran away and ran into Mr Walker. “Uncle Johnny help me the girl attack me” I hugged him
“Isaac. What girl?” Mr Walker asked.
“Her,” I pointed at Charlie who came running around the corner. “Lucifer” I hid behind him as she came closer.
“Charlotte, I’ll take him home. You can go home too. It may be safer for Isaac” Mr. Walker said looking down at me. “But…fine” she sighed and walked off.
“Let’s go home. Let me get our bags ok.” John asked,
“Okay” I said, I held his hand and skipped beside him.
“It’s your fault” mum screamed at James.
“I said might be, I’m not sure yet,” James responded. I could hear them through the door. I reached the doorknob and opened it. James saw me and ran out the back door. “Mummy.” I shouted as I ran towards her, John was behind me in the doorway. “Isaac?” Mum was confused.
“His mind is three. He doesn’t remember anything since Sterling left.” John informed her. I passed out.
