IT HAD been a day and a few hours since we set off for the Imperial Palace, my mother, myself, and Esin Hatun all shared a carriage, and my mother's maids and her cat were in another. The realization hit soon enough when I realized that I would be in the presence of the magnificent Sultan Suleiman!
My nerves had also got the best of me by the time we were halfway near the palace so it wasn't good for me whatsoever.
My mother reassured me that everything would be okay but she doesn't understand me at all...
She's a Sultana by birth, so am I but it's way different, she grew up in the palace, the daughter of a sultan and sister to a sultan.
She knows the palace customs and how everything works, but I grew up far away from the imperial court and all the craziness that came with it, I barely can protect myself without my mother by my side helping me along the way.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when the carriage crosses over a bumpy road.
My mother notices my shock and takes a deep breath in before looking at me with a very serious expression,
"Get out of your head Eslime, and fix your crazy-looking hair, " my mother scolds me.I nod my head taking off my headpiece and handing it to Esin, I take off my headscarf and I run my fingers through my hair.
I lick my hand slightly and I brush the loose hairs down, "mother my looks do not matter much, you and I both know the spotlight will be on you, " I chuckle.
My mother frowns, "Look at me girl, " my mother says in a serious tone, I look at her scared of what could come next.
"If you want the spotlight you have to grab it, make them look at you, make them love you so much that they will all get jealous when just being around you, " my mother says in a very harsh way.
I nod my head once more before speaking up again, "I understand valide, " I say being obedient as always.
I've always been obedient, never getting in trouble, and always doing what my mother tells me to do, I have only seen my mother angry twice and it was living hell, she's a strong and powerful woman so you can only imagine how angry she gets.
"And fix your hair darling, it looks so untamed!" My mother scolds me.
I sigh and nod my head before taking off my headpiece and headscarf and handing them both to Esin.
I run my fingers through my hair for a bit before licking my palm and brushing the loose hairs down.
"Does it look good now?" I ask turning to Esin Hatun, she chuckles and nods her head making me smile.
I grab my headscarf and headpiece from her putting them both back on before turning to look out the small carriage window.
I see that my surroundings have now changed and we are now passing in a field of flowers and I can see a market nearby.
