"Well, it all happened last year at these courts," I begin.
【Flashback to 2 Years Ago, Freshman Year】
It's the day of the ranking matches for the girls tennis team and although freshmen aren't supposed to participate, me and another girl named Kusonagi Emiko, are allowed to participate. By the end of practice me and the other freshman had made the team. Three of the juniors were not happy about it and began to target us in the practices to come. Although they were older than us, they hadn't made the team and we had, and they didn't like that. That year it had only been verbal abuse.
【Time Skip to 1 Year Ago, Junior Year】Me and Emiko made the team once again, while the three other girls once again didn't make the team. One day, the three girls invited me to the riverside tennis courts. I agreed just to be polite. That's where they ambushed me. They took there tennis rackets and rammed the rim against my right knee over and over again, they also used a baseball bat. They kicked me in the ribs and spit on me. When they were done, I could barely feel anything. Thankfully, shortly after they left, somebody found me and called an ambulance. The next thing I knew I was in the hospital with two detectives waiting at my bedside. Although I didn't want to, I told them what had happened in order to protect Emiko. They were expelled from school and then arrested.
【Flashback End】"To this day I haven't been able to move like I used to and I have this scar to always remember what happened," I finish with tears in my eyes.
Eiji immediately hugs me while rubbing my back.
"I'm so sorry Ayane chi. Maybe there's a way you can still play tennis," Eiji comforts me.
"Really? How can I still play?" I ask.
"Well I don't know if it will work but there is a technique that Tezuka uses called 'Zone' and although he's not here right now, I bet we can find someone else to teach you," Eiji tells me.
"Thank you Eiji kun for giving me hope," I say with appreciation.
"Anytime Ayane chi," Eiji smiles.
At this time, I am reminded of how much hope he brings me. Please don't ever change, Eiji.
【A/N:】 this chapter is relatively short but I feel like I covered everything I wanted to in this chapter. I'll try to come out with the next chapter as soon as possible.
