It Came With Being Blind

Chapter 1 (Re wright)

I woke up to a black world, I mean it happened everyday, I don't know why I was hopeful to be able to see, since nothing had ever changed overnight before.

"Eliza, how are we looking today?" I asked my artificial intelligence, while I finished getting dressed in a t-shirt and jean short shorts. When you're born blind you adapt though your life to the point where it doesn't affect you. That and I had the help of my seeing eye dog, who was probably still asleep but I created Eliza, and my house so I could find everything without a problem.

"Good, miss." She said, I smiled to myself.

"What's on our agenda for today?"

"Nothing, for today." She said, I stepped onto the elevator, I shrugged, it meant I could work on my projects.

"Eliza, my lab please, I want to keep working on Project looking glass and Project green." I said, I felt the floor moving downwards. I had found out very quickly that an elevator was safer than the stairs.

"Of course, I have an incoming message from the vice president, would you like me to read it?"

"Yes please." The doors opened and I felt my way

"Dear Y/N Hamilton, I wish to meet you for lunch, Tuesday afternoon." I have already checked and your itinerary is empty that day, what do you want to say?" She asked me.

"Say, and I quote, 'Ms. Vice President, I'm enlightened to be able to dine with you next Tuesday, where would we be meeting, and with whom?' end quote, Thanks Eliza." I said,

"No problem ma'am," she said.

"Oh, and shuffle a playlist please." I requested as I got to thinking, my music softly played in the background. "Eliza, has there been any breakthrough on project Looking Glass, since the last formula I put in?" I asked, she hesitated, "What is it?"

"There is, but we don't have the equipment, only one person does, and he's In New York City. The one and only Tony Stark."

I groaned, a trip from South New Jersey to New York may not be a problem for most people, but it was one for me, "Ok, um, after the meeting with Mrs. Vice President, schedule a flight to New York, oh, and get me a video conference with Tony, please." I requested.

"Right away." I waited about half an hour until he answered. I looked at where the camera was supposed to be, and since Eliza didn't correct me I figured it was close.

"Mr. Stark,"

"Y/n"

"I hate to ask, but I need your help." I said,

"I'm intrigued, go on."

I sighed heavily, "I have a way, too, to help blind people see, it's just you're the only one who has the equipment,''

"Ok, ok, we could pare up on this, um when can you get out here,"

"Tuesday, around nightfall, if everything goes smoothly," I said brightly.

"That works for me kid, see you then," the call ended and I slumped down.

"Ok, Eliza let's look at the New Energy protect, see if we can make a breakthrough,"

"right away ma'am, Oh, your mother wishes to remind you that Sunday dinner is tomorrow."

"Ok, Tell her I'll be there." I said without really paying attention,"Oh, if we use a combination of waste processing power, solar, wind and lightning, could that sustain the house?" I asked, she calculated,

"It could, we could add hydroelectric to the list, all renewable energy, and it could clear up the rivers and oceans," she pointed out.

"Ok, and I want to use the garbage that's dumped for something. Theoretically could we build out of the stuff, if it's put together?" I asked, she was silent for a moment,

"it could," i smiled,

"Hey, what time is it?"

"Almost 10:00 pm missed."

"Alright, let's call it a day."
