Chapter 11

Thomas POV

The others all walk into Lafayette and Hercules' room. What did they do? Its not like they can actually ruin my reputation in 2 minutes, right? That doesnt matter anymore I need to find Alex. He could be in Washingtons office; I'll try there first.

I start walking but I run into someone "Asshole" They say.

"What?" I ask,

"Everyone knows youve just been pretending to be somewhat nice, when you're really just a toxic, homophobic asshole, go to hell" They walk away. Well shit. That great but I still cant focus on that right now.

By the time I get to Washingtons office multiple people have insulted me to my face or whispered as I go by. I knock on the door and I hear Alex say come in. "Alex! I'm so glad I found you!" I exclaim.

"Leave me alone Jefferson" He gets up and starts walking out. That hurt. It took so long for him to call me Thomas and now were back to Jefferson.

"Alex, please wait! Let me explain" I beg, following him out to where theres a bunch of People.

"Leave him alone" Someone, who hasnt met either of us, says.

"Whatever the hell Lafayette, Hercules, John, Peggy, Angelica and Eliza told you isnt fuckin' true so fuck off!" I yell, "Alex listen to me, What Madison said w-" he cuts me off.

I said "Leave me alone! I'm done with you using me!" He shouts.

"Alex please, can we just talk in private?" I beg.

"No! I'm not going anywhere with you, you promised you won't hurt me the way John did, but you've just been using me this whole time! He says, on the verge of tears. You didnt have to pretend to be so invested, you could have at least been a shit boyfriend, but you kept saying you loved me. Was it all just to humiliate me? "

"No! I never used you! Madison was lying! I dont love him anymore, I'm not using you, if I was do you really think I would care about you the way I do? Or love you the way I do?"

"So, you're saying you never said you thought it would be funny to date me to get special treatment from Washington?" He asks.

"Well I did but that was ages ago when I hated you! I didnt know how amazing you are. I love you so much" I reply.

"Just Stay away from me" He finally says and walks off somewhere.

I fucked up everything! If I had skipped class like he wanted I could have stopped James from saying anything! I just want him to know that I would never use him and I love him. I decide to go talk to his friends. If I can get them to believe me they'll talk to him.

I knock on the door and Hercules opens it. "What the fuck are you doing here?" He asks coldly.

"Please, just let me explain, Alex won't listen to me." I beg. He turns to Lafayette who just nods so he lets me in. "Thank you. Basically Madison came back this morning and went to my room, he told Alex that I said I would get back together with him and that I was only dating Alex to get special treatment from Washington. He also told Alex that I joked a lot about doing that before James left. But I swear I'm not using him. I love him and yes, I used to hate him and joke about it but I don't anymore. He means more than anything to me, I don't care about the bullshit reputation you gave me, I just want Alex to listen to me and forgive me" I explain.

They all look at each other like they're reading their minds then come to a decision. "How can we help?" John asks. I smile In relief.

"Well first that reputation that you made isn't really helping-" Peggy picks up her phone and quickly starts typing.

"Ok that's done" She says after a minutes.

"Great, ok so would one of you be able to talk to him, explain what happened and try to get him to talk to me?" I ask.

"Yeah me and John can" Lafayette says. He and John get up and walk out.

"Thank y'all so much." I sigh.

"Sit" Eliza says or more demands. I sit on the couch. "We give everyone a second chance."

"But only one. So don't blow this." Angelica continues.

"And you better be telling the truth otherwise we'll destroy more than you're reputation." Hercules adds.

"I am. But how did you change the whole schools mind about me in like 2 minutes?" I ask.

"We all have shit in our notes about people we remotely know so they send it to me and cuz almost everyone has me on post alert I put it on Instagram, twitter even Facebook. Then I just reposted saying I meant to say James Reynolds." Peggy shrugs.

"Wow umm wait even on each other?" I ask.

"Nope" Angelica and Eliza say.

"Yes" Peggy says at the same time. They look at her weirdly and she just shrugs.

Lafayette POV

Me and John get up and start walking towards Washington's office "Do you believe Thomas?" I ask.

"Yeah, I think so but if I'm wrong I swear I'll kill him" John replies, I nod. When we get to Washington's office he's not there. "Where else would he have gone?"

"I dunno, I'll text him" I grab my phone.

Lafayette🥖: Hey, Are you ok? Where are you?

Me and John went to find you but you're not in Washington's office.

Alex⏳: I'm fine I'm in Washington's room, but please just leave me alone and don't tell Thomas.

"I mean we should still go check on him right?" John asks, leaning over my shoulder and reading the message.

"Yeah, come on" We start walking over to the teacher's rooms. When we get there I knock on the door but there's no answer "Alex?" I slowly open the door and look around.

"John? Laf? I told you to leave me alone" Alex says running out of the bathroom. His eyes are red and his cheeks are wet so it's obvious he's been crying.

"Alex what's on your arm?" John asks gesturing to his sleeve, there's a red stain near the wrist. Wait..- omg.

"Umm it's nothing" He says pulling the sleeves down further.

"Alex, please show me" John begs, he slowly reaches for Alex's hand. Alex just sighs and puts down his hands. John carefully rolls up his sleeves to show a couple of cuts, still bleeding, some looks deep. John doesn't say anything, he just hugs Alex.

"I-I'm sorry" He starts crying.

"Shhh it's ok. You're gonna be alright" John assures him.
