Chapter Twelve

Belle is busy doing an agreement which her professor gave them before Halloween. She only has few days left to finish it and everyone will go back to school. Her agreement is all about how to be an effective teacher. Studying education is not that easy because you will be having a lot of paper works to do. She will be reporting in front of the class once she gets back. It won’t be an easy report for her because talking in front with explanations is not enough but she also must have visual aids, include games that will entertain the students before the class starts and make them listen to the discussion. Making students participate in different game activities before starting a lesson is very important and this is also a process of getting to know them. These are the things that Belle must be prepared for.

Belle just stayed in her dormitory the whole day in front of the computer doing the said agreement. Even on Halloween, she didn’t go out to have fun. She is still worried for her safety as well as for her friends because until now, Paul Breckmann is nowhere to be found.

Someone knocked on her door and she was curious of who her visitor might be because she is not expecting one for today. When she opened the door, it was Erica Monroe who came to visit her.

“What brings you here Erica”?

“I want to tell you something Belle”.

“What is it”?

“Linda, Liza, and Jason were all found dead last night”!

Belle didn’t utter any word. She was in disbelief and was shocked at the same time. She has this question running through her mind like why is this tragedy happening to all of her friends and loved ones.

“You have to leave this dormitory now Belle. It is no longer safe for you to stay here. Paul is still out there and he may be the one responsible for the deaths of our friends. Felice is dead and had been your room mate here. If Paul knows that Felice did live here before, he might also know that you’re here right now. If that is the case Belle, then you’re in great danger”.

“If I’m going to leave this dormitory, where will we go”?

“We need to go somewhere safe to stick together and watch our backs at all times. Living together in one roof just for a while will make us safer and Paul won’t be able to get near or hurt us”.

“Do you know a place where we can stay starting tonight”?

“Detective Ryan Cole offered a place he knows where we can stay. It is a good thing that he wants to help us. He can protect us Belle and Paul doesn’t know where that place is”.

“Yeah, I think that is a great idea and we will be safer there. Just wait for me and I will pack my bags now”.

“We don’t have to worry about anything now Belle, Detective Ryan won’t be the only one to guard and protect us from Paul. There will be other detectives with him that will stay with us in the house I’m telling you”.

Belle quickly opened her closet and packed her bags. She took all of her clothes with her and she doesn’t have plans to go back or stay in her dormitory anymore. She bid goodbye to her landlady and to all other people working in the dormitory.

“Where will you go now Belle?” Why are you leaving hastily? Belle’s landlord asked with curiosity.

“I need to leave Mrs. Fran because I’m no longer safe here. A dangerous person is after me and he might know that I’m here”.

“Be careful Belle and if you need anything, we are all here for you. You’re always welcome here in the dormitory. I’ll be praying for your safety and I know in my heart that time will come and all these problems you are facing now will end soon”.

“Thank you Mrs. Fran, I have to go now”.

Belle and Erica left the dormitory. Erica was the one who drove her car going to the house that Detective Ryan offered them to stay at. When they got there, as expected to what Erica said, several cops are waiting for them who are guarding the house. Detective Ryan Cole, Detective Allan Jean, Detective Michael Sanders, and Detective Sam Farrell were the ones staying there and will be with Belle and Erica during the rest of their stay.

“I’m glad that the two of you already made it here. Me and the other detectives usually guard this house and I’m definitely sure that you and your friends will be safe here Belle. We won’t let anything happen to all of you”. Detective Ryan Cole said with a warm welcome coming from him.

“This is so kind of you Detective Ryan. We appreciate your help and I just want to know, how can we repay you? We really are thankful to you Detective for letting us stay here”.

“You’re welcome Belle and don’t think about how you can repay me and the other detectives now. We are just doing our job and that is to protect all of you and keep you away from harm”.

Belle and Erica had been escorted inside the house and they were the ones who chose their own respective rooms. The house is big and has plenty of space for everyone.

Martin Siegel and Jeric Peters are enjoying singing with their other two band mates. They were practicing several songs for their upcoming live band concert which will happen in a week. Martin Siegel’s voice is higher than Jeric’s and because of this, the band considered Martin to be their lead vocalist.

The kind of song that they usually sing is in the category of pop songs because this is the category that fits Martin’s voice. Since Jason is no longer alive and was supposed to have a part on the band, Jeric took his place because he knows how to sing too even if being a singer had never been one of his plans in life.

Martin missed his hang outs with Jason and until now, he still can’t get Jason’s voice out of his head. He remembered how their bonding works in singing. The two of them were the closest among all other friends that they have. The instruments that their band is using were: piano, guitar and drums. Martin is not just singing but he also plays the guitar as well. It might look difficult for him to sing while playing an instrument but he already got used to it.

Martin received a text message coming from Belle Harvey. Belle told him to go with Jeric to the house that Detective Ryan Cole had offered them to stay for the night. He immediately informed Jeric about it and decided to pack their bags in no time. They quickly rode a car to go to the place where Belle and Erica are staying. They still have a long way to go before they will be able to reach their destination. It will take them almost two hours to get to Belle and Erica.

“Martin, why do you think Belle and Erica suddenly decided to live in one house to stick together”?

“It’s getting dangerous for us to be alone Jeric. We need to watch our backs at all times especially now that Paul is still not found. I think being together all the time will be the only way for us to be safe”.

“I guess you’re right. I will just inform my family tomorrow where we are. I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye to them especially to my parents and this has been unexpected”.

Martin is getting close to their destination but when he saw a gas station, he stopped the car for a while to have some more fuel in order to avoid running out of gas. Martin can’t see any gasoline boy around the station and so he decided to go down the car and look for one. Jeric needs to go to the comfort room, so he went down the car too.

Jeric went to pee in the comfort room of the gasoline station and when he is about to go back to their car, a man wearing black clothes with a bandit mask on its face suddenly showed up in the comfort room in front of Jeric. He saw the man behind him on the mirror of the comfort room and when he turned around, the man hits him in the head using a hammer. With just one hit, Jeric dies and a lot of blood came out on his head.
