yn's pov.

damn my mom. why did she have to make me work. i'm already famous for being a medium. more famous then Ms. hara. i walk to some school house and saw a camera already set up. "hello anyone here." i shouted. i sighed. "I'll just be waiting outside." i said out loud. after waiting for a while. i sighed and walked around and i see a group talking. including a man in a suit. "there you are. are you the principle." i asked causing to look at me. i smiled as i saw a face i recognize.

"yes i am. can i help you."

"i'm yn. the medium."

"ah yes. this young lady is here to help as well." he said smiling.

"it's been a while." naru said.

"i would of said the same thing, naru." i said smiling. i walked up to him.

"you two know each other?" a woman said.

"were exs" he said coldly.

"be nice, naru. she was just asking a question." i said.

"i need to talk to you. alone." he said angrily. he grabbed my wrist and dragged me away as i groan in annoyance.

"ow what's the deal. i'm just here to work." i said.

"i'm sorry, but you can't be here." he said.

"what why?" i said. he was silent for a moment. "oh i get it. you still like me."

"what no. i broke up with you." he said.

"i didn't say that i broke up with you. i just said you still liked me." i said. he just glared. i walked away. he grumbled following me.

"what's going on with him." the girl said.

"oh he's just being a fussy." i said smiling.

"don't speak for me." he said angrily.

"fine. then speak up." i said. "anyways. I'm going in to try and sense something." i said.

"what do you mean?" the girl said.

"what's your name?" i said.

"oh it's mai." she said.

"and the rest of you."

"the names john brown." the cute blonde said.

"Ayako."

"you can call me monk."

"nice to meet you." i said smiling. i looked to the girl with braids. "and you?"

"oh its kuroda. i can sense the spirits." she said and i just looked at her.

"if you can feel them then why don't you accompany me." i said with a fake smile. she nodded. we made our way inside and i closed my eyes to try and sense then. "be sure to count how many you sense." i said. we walked around. i saw mai after the first 20 minutes. we were silent the whole time. i follow mai in a room. "so this is base?" i said. i grabbed a paper and wrote down 'there are no spirits' on it. i put it on narus clipboard without anyone but him noticing. i held up a finger and he sighed. "so kuroda. how many did you sense."

"many. at least 20." she said and i felt my eye twitch in irritation.

"naru. why don't you read the note i gave you." i said and he opened it.

"there are no spirits here." he said boredly.

"what none." mai said.

"i hate it when someone trys to act like a medium but aren't actually one. let me guess. you took medium classes."

"no. i can just sense them. there are many who died in the war. many who were injured very badly." she said angrily.

"really. this place was never any records of a hospital here or the war being here. stop trying to show off." i said.

"yn calm down." naru said. i glare at him.

"you know how i get to fakers."

"you may not sense it now. just give it some time." he said grabbing my shoulder. i shrugged him off.

"fine. i'll just walk around i guess." i said. i walked out. i walked to the stairs and i heard a scream. i ran towards it and monk was trying to open a door. "what happened." i said.

"Ayako is stuck inside." he said and i looked back to the base. naru came into my vision and he was holding something in his hand. i sighed and walked over to him.

"just open the door." he said.

"was that stuck in the bottom of the door." i asked quietly. he looked at me.

"still sharp as ever." he said giving me a smile. but his eyes looked hurt.

"naru. are you okay."

"i'm fine." he said.

"you say your fine but you actually seem hurt. what's going on." i said. he just stayed silent. "fine don't tell me." i said and walked away.
