The Older Brother

Chapter 7

Rin and Shippo rode the two headed dragon both excited to have a play mate. Sesshomaru picked Kagome up and carried her in his arms. The young priestess was not shocked when they arrived back at The palace for the western lands, Sesshomarus palace. Rin all to familiar with the place hopped down taking the Ah-Un with one hand and Shippo with the other. Joken hopped down and squinted at Kagome, he was clearly not thrilled to have the 'enemy' here. He knew well enough to keep his mouth shut the second Lord Sesshomaru put his had on her lower back to guide her in.

Sesshomaru stopped after a few steps. "Do you remember where our room is." He asked Kagome in a sweet voice.

Kagome thought for a moment before nodding, "mm yes." The priestess said confidently.

Sesshomaru smiled softly, "good, you go on ahead I'll meet you there." Kagome nodded and went on.Sesshomaru turned his attention to the small demon. "Joken! Are you doubting my judgment!" The great demon said shapely as he glared at the small green demon.

Fear swept over the small demon. "No my lord!! I would never!!"

"Never look at my mate with such distain agin or you may very well loose your life." Sesshomaru threatened. "She is my mate  and that can never be undone."

"S-sorry my lord ." The small demon said bowing over and over.

With that Sesshomaru turned on he heels and left Joken standing dumb struck in the hall. He walked down the hall quickly still very annoyed with the small demons attitude towed his beloved mate. He wouldn't stand for the disrespect, because for anyone t disrespect his mate it was the same as disrespecting Sesshomaru himself.

Kagome was sitting on the bed thinking or how quickly things happened. Trying to figure out when she had started to fall in love with Sesshomaru when the door flew open and Sesshomaru stormed in. "Hey what's the matter." Kagome said getting to her feet and waking to him.

"I will not allow anyone to disrespect you." He said placing a hand on her cheek.

"Sesshomaru, it's ok, really." She comforted him in a soothing voice.

The dog Demond sighed, "Kagome your a human and if they don't respect you they will think of killing you as getting rid of a problem for me. They will think of you as a weakness to me."  He said drooping his had and walking over to close the door. "I can't loose you. Your not afraid of me. I never knew how much I needed someone to be unafraid of me. You don't se me as a monster."

Kagome walked over to the great demond. Taking him by the had she pulled over to the bed setting him down and sitting next to him. "I'll be safe it's ok. You will protect me I believe in you." She said smiling softly at him.

Sesshomaru let a low but playful growl rip though his teeth. He pushed Kagomes back into the bed and rolled on top of her with a smirk.
