My eyes landed on Allison standing in front of an empty parking space with an iced coffee in her hand.

My brows knit together as I pulled into the parking space and expertly hopped out of my car, my heels landing in the gravel, "hey?"

"Hey, Lexi," She gave me an apologetic smile as she handed me the coffee. "This is my 'I'm sorry for being such a panicked bitch on Tuesday' drink."

I laughed a little and took the drink from her, linking my arm with hers, "Hey, you have no reason to apologize. We were in a pretty scary situation so it's not surprising that you were freaking out."

"Still. I was such an asshole to you, especially when you risked your life for us. Also, I hope we're okay even though Scott and I aren't..."

"You were my friend before you were his girlfriend. That doesn't change a thing. I understand that you don't feel like you trust him, and a relationship isn't solid without trust," I said firmly as we walked into the school and her posture relaxed. "I just want you to promise me one thing. Be careful around Jackson. 99% of the time, whatever he does is to benefit him. Please don't get sucked into his charm."

Allison nodded, hopefully taking my warning into consideration and Lydia sauntered up over to us, "Hey girlies. What's up?"

Not wanting to reveal what I said about Jackson, I threw Allison a pleading look and she understood what I was trying to say, "I was telling Lexi that it's just weird. Everybody's talking about what happened the other night, and nobody knows it was us."

"Thank you for the Protection of Minors," Lydia sang sarcastically as we continued down to our class.

"Do you guys think I made the wrong decision?" Allison asked us hesitantly, looking down and playing with her fingers.

"About that jacket with that dress? Absolutely," Lydia said snidely, making me give her a disapproving look.

"You know what I mean."

"Hello? Scott locked us in a classroom and left us for dead. He's lucky we're not pressing charges, or making him pay our therapy bills," Lydia scoffed, and I frowned at her answer, taking it to heart.

"So, then that means I left you for dead too, right? I mean since I went with Scott," I snapped sarcastically at Lydia, my voice hard as the pounding in my head left my patience levels at an all-time low. "Don't worry, you'll be getting your check in the mail."

Before she could try to fumble for an apology, I marched down the hallway after a humorless laugh and into the chemistry classroom.

Allison slipped into the classroom and into the seat in front of me a couple of moments after I sat down and she looked at me concerned but I gave her a small smile, indicating I was fine.

You can't be friends with Lydia if you can't handle being pissed off by her. It's just a fact.

She nodded and turned to face the front, only to see Scott.
