Chapter 1

Tory pov

"You're kidding!" Hi nearly burst my eardrums. "Please please please tell me you were kidding."

I'd told my friends what I'd experienced last night. What I didn't tell them was that the first time I flared was a week and a half ago. They needed some time being normal after all the Viral stuff that's gone on.

"I knew it was too good to be true." Shelton was tugging both earlobes. "Not even two weeks of being normal again, and here we are."

"I'm sorry guys," I said. "I thought you should know."

"It's not possible," Chance argued. "We'd be flaring too."

"Like I said, I could be wrong. It could've been a trick of the light, but from our experience..." I trailed off.

Ben asked, "Is it really a bad thing?"

Everyone looked at him. "We'll be a pack again," he reasoned. "Just like old times."

"In the old times" Shelton remembered, "we almost died a lot."

True. But I wanted this change. After being Viral for so long, a normal life was really boring. What's life without a little action?
