Hatta Mountains حتا

What happened in Casablanca stayed for a good thirty-six hours, much like how long her Geneva layover took to get where she was—in the car with half the quandary, still perplexed, but blissfully taking it one day at a time.

Veronica stepped on the gas of her Audi Q8 leading out of the dusty roads of Oman and back into the winding roads of Dubai.

Beside her sat Eric Klein in his usual dashing self, his wavy copper locks neatly combed away from his strong jawline and perfect visage.

Aside from Drew, Eric was the first man she'd taken for a drive in her newly purchased car.

"So tell me all about the place we're heading to," she stole a glance at him, admiring the sweet silence inside her car. She insisted on driving today, taking control of whatever situation she'd gotten herself into.

When Eric invited her to join him yesterday, she couldn't say no, wanting to keep her mind off Wolff's hasty moves and dangerous sex appeal. At least with Eric, he invited her with a group, making it more like a fun trip with friends, rather than a straight-on romantic getaway he'd boldly proposed to her.

"It's a five-star campsite within the Hatta mountains. They have a flowing bar and a Michelin-star chef cooking up a storm each night. We'll be staying in luxurious tents for the weekend with personal butlers present at all times. Later in the afternoon, we could cool off in the natural rock pools."

Before even getting there, her mind had already trailed off to the mountains. She knew she was going to love it.

A sight to behold, just east of the bustling city, they arrived in a dreamscape. After being asked to park her car in a designated spot, the staff of the luxury desert camp shuttled them into a thousand hectares of mountainous landscape.

The white Escalade took them through rust rock formations, reflecting that of Eric's hair when hit by the sun. They caught sight of contrasting blue-green pools hiding behind the smooth rocks. A sneak peek of tonight's itinerary.

When they arrived at a village of well-distanced tents, they immediately spotted Malcolm, Danielle and Drew inside an enormous open tent adorned with oriental rugs, brass lanterns and colorful throws.

A bartender and a server stood on the side, preparing beautifully presented cocktails. It all seemed like they were on a shoot of a Vogue spread in the middle of a dream.

"Eric, how in the world did you find this place?" Drew ran to give them a hug.

"My client is the owner and insisted that I should come visit it, so I thought it would be great to experience it with you."

"With me? Aww, you really are the sweetest, Eric," Drew gushed while the rest laughed.

"Man, it's quite a place," Malcolm came to give him a brotherly hug.
