Bucciarati and Giorno were in his office, discussing what Giorno had to say from earlier.

"I presume you're finished with the plans, correct?" Giorno started off.

Bucciarati nodded, "yes. Thanks to everyone's hard work, we've gathered enough information to infiltrate their base."

"And what about the Boss?"

Bucciarati sighed. "Unfortunately, still not much information. He hasn't shown up anywhere, and I wasn't about to ask one of the members to go sticking their nose around." He said in a cautious voice, holding a hand over his stomach.

"You mentioned before you ran into him though, what was he like? Did he pull out his stand?"

Bucciarati sat down in his chair, leaning back, remembering the occurrence. "I don't know," he breathed. "It felt like a totally different feeling. One minute I punched him. I know I did, I made physical contact. But then, his body distorted, and suddenly a hand was through my abdomen." He shivered. "I thought I died, Giorno. But I was suddenly back to where I was before I punched him."

Giorno took in his words, thinking carefully. "Perhaps that's his stand, no, that is his stand for sure. If you can remember all that, then the situations definitely happened. But it's weird, how does it actually work? Are they illusions, or does it have something to do with rewinding time?"

Bucciarati shook his head. "I'm not sure. But I think he was just playing with me. He could have easily left me to die, but he said he wanted to not fight me then."

Giorno nodded slowly, "I see."

Bucciarati sighed in frustration. "It's going to be another life threatening fight for all of us again." He said, remembering the fight against Diavolo.

Giorno smiled, "don't worry Boss, we'll win for sure, we have to."

Bucciarati smiled weakly, tired from the stress. "Yeah."
"So anyways, have you discovered anything more for the cure?"

Giorno shifted on the spot, hesitant to answer. "Yes, there is actually I cure I've discovered." He started.

Bucciarati's eyes widened with hope. He stood up, ready to tackle Giorno with the biggest hug, until he saw his saddened face. He sat back down, worry flooding through him. "And?" He asked, in a low quiet voice.

Giorno sighed. "It's extremely risky, almost as if it's not even a cure at all, yet a sliver of the faintest hope." He started.

"Her case is a little different, you see. Because her stand hasn't "fully awakened" yet, it's causing the symptoms to occur at a slower rate, and my stand's abilities has caused that process to slow even further. I'm afraid if these conditions weren't in place, she'd already be dead a long time ago. It's a miracle she can still even move right now."

Bucciarati nodded, "and for the cure? What are the chances?"

"Well, that's where the risky part comes in. She needs to activate her stand, causing it to fully awaken. But unfortunately, once she does that, all the symptoms will begin to speed up at an alarming rate; my stand's ability won't even have any effect at that point in slowing it down. The worst part is, even if we manage to inject the cure in her on time, the chances of survival is 5%, and the chances of recovering properly is 1%, even if I used my stand to help her."

Bucciarati had no words, even if he did, he wouldn't have been able to speak.

He took in a shaky breath, relaying the information in his head, again and again. 1% chance, he thought.

He wanted to see the bright side of things, that perhaps from it all, you would actually survive. But 1% chance. You'd have to be a miracle worker to survive that.

He clutched his fist. "I see" he finally breathed. "How do we get her stand to activate?" He said, his voice almost cracking.

Giorno remained calm the entire time, for Bucciarati's sake.

"We need to put her in a 'fight or flight' situation. It will be up to her whether she has the fighting will in her heart or not." He stated. "Perhaps we should bring her along with us, to the final fight."

Bucciarati wanted to stand up immediately, to deny Giorno of his last statement.

This is exactly what he wanted to keep you from experiencing. He didn't want you to go through what they went through once already.

He wanted to protect you from this cruel world, but it was inevitable.

He was frustrated with himself, angry in fact. Promising you such things he couldn't keep his word to. His anger only turned into disappointment and sadness.

Giorno was watching Bucciarati carefully. He could tell he was internally struggling with his emotions, with himself.

He wanted to tell him everything would be okay, but he wasn't quite sure of it himself. He didn't know who was going to live after this fight. The two of them remained silent, thinking.

Suddenly they heard a light knock on the door.

"Come in." Bucciarati said.

The door then opened, to reveal you holding a tray with a teapot and cups. Giorno and Bucciarati's eyes widened at the sight of you.

You smiled weakly, "You two looked stressed walking off earlier, so I thought it would be nice for you to have some tea to help relax."

Giorno quickly came over, after seeing you struggle to walk a bit.

You thanked him as he took the tray from you. Bucciarati remained in his seat, watching you. His heart aching. Still putting other's before yourself, I see. You truly are too kind, y/n.

Bucciarati sighed. "Thank you, y/n. I appreciate your efforts. Giorno, could you please help y/n back to her room?"

Before Giorno could respond, you spoke up. "It's alright, I brought the tea here so you two could enjoy it as you talk. I can manage on my own."

Bucciarati wanted to argue with you, but you gave him the best encouraging smile you could manage, trying to tell him you were fine.

He accepted your wishes. "Alright, please don't push yourself too hard."

You nodded, as you left the room, closing the door.

Giorno looked at Bucciarati, for him to read his thoughts.

Bucciarati nodded. "We're out of time. Get the members ready, we're leaving tomorrow night."
