Tired... (arumika music lyric angst) (COMPLETE)

12th chapter

(Third person pov)

Mikasa saw the name of the text message that was sent to her and it was from,
"Armin..." She says as a smile was forming on her face, she reads the text,

Armin: I wish we can talk again Mikasa, I miss talking to you, I miss seeing your face, I miss seeing that smile of yours, I miss your voice, and I want to see you again... because i li-

Mikasa stopped reading after that sentence, she was in shock after reading the last sentence,
"Armin...likes me?" she thought out loud, she couldn't believe it, someone like him could have chosen any girl (or any guy) in the world and he choses Mikasa?

She stared at those words over and over again, until Armin started to text again.

Armin: Please, Mikasa ignore that I was too caught up in my feelings and I didn't even know I sent that, please forgive me!!

Mikasa was still too caught up on the first message, it came too her all too fast, still looking st her phone, with a sad expression, she responded to him,

Mikasa: I'm sorry Armin, please just give me some time to think about this...

Armin couldn't believe what Mikasa responded, he stared at his phone reading her text message over and over until his phone turned off, the guilt and worry rushed over him and he soon started to cry, Armin laid down and buried his head into his pillow and started screaming a bunch of curses and 'It's all my fault, It's all my fault!' into his pillow, he feels like he just had broken a relationship with someone who shown little to no signs of liking him.

Mikasa shed a tear, she powered off her phone, laid in the her bed, and stared at the celling in the dark night, thoughts were running wild in her head of how she could have handled it better, but the best choice was to create a space between them, she doesn't know how bad it affects Armin, he overthinks a lot of situations most of the time and it gets to him, so the text message affected him really badly.

"I'm sorry...Armin." Mikasa says in a whisper and fell asleep soon quickly.

Armin, while still crying, understood what he did, but couldn't stop himself from doing so cause his emotions got the best of him, he couldn't bare to respond back after she messaged him back.

"I'm...sorry...Mikasa" Armin choked out, he was crying so much, it was getting harder for him to breathe, he tried to calm himself with sounds that help him fall asleep such as rain noises, he calms his breathing after a few minutes and hugs his pillow while tears continues to fall down his face, he stares at his phone for a few moments and grabs it, he texted her back even though his head hurts and his eyes will also hurt if he stares at his screen while crying.

Armin: It's okay Mikasa, I'll give you time to think about this.

He sent it and put his phone on his nightstand, he sighed, he wanted to give Mikasa some space like she asked for, he knew it hurt him, but he also knew that it hurt her as well, he didn't want to invalid her feelings, he never wants to invalid someone's feelings all because he is also feeling sad because he isn't that type of person.

Armin started to get tired as time went on, so he started to relax his body and steadied his breathing, he drifted off to sleep, though still upset, he just wants to be well rested for tomorrow.
