A/N: This part and pretty much all of the parts after it will contain sex so, if you're not comfortable with that, I'd quit reading and save yourself.
_____
Once you're home you pretend like nothing ever happened at the pool party. You have to, or you'll fall right back into your old ways of feeling sorry for yourself. Instead, you throw yourself into your work and get overtime on Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday night you get off just as late and opt to grab takeout on your way home, vowing to eat in your room with script edits in front of you. Diany has other plans, apparently, because before your meal is done she's knocking on your door.
"Come in!" you yell.
She bounds in and nearly knocks over your poke bowl when she jumps onto your bed next to you.
"Check. This. Out."
She smiles and holds her phone up to you. You squint until her hand is still and you can focus on the text in front of you.
[Kara: Can you give me your roommate's number? Jordan asked for it 👀 👀 👀 sounds like they had fun at the pool party]
You're stunned at first, but then your heart starts to speed up and you can feel a flush wash over your face and chest.
"Well, send my number!" you say, reaching for the phone to do it yourself. Diany holds it out of your reach.
"I will, I will! Jeez, thirsty much?" she teases you but starts tapping away at her phone. "So what happened while everyone was inside?"
You take a deep breath as you remember the night and start to tell Diany about how easily the conversation flowed, how he laughed at your little jokes and the way you guys stole glances at each other. She didn't even realize that you guys were getting cozy in the hot tub when she ruined it and apologized, but also mentioned that Jordan really doesn't seem like the type in favor of PDA.
That night you have trouble sleeping. You're anticipating a text and what will come after, but more so you're reliving that night and making up alternative scenarios in your head. What if Diany and Kara had stayed inside? What if he asked you to stay over?
You're exhausted when you show up to work the next day, just going through the motions and letting the time pass you by. Just as you're back from your lunch break, your phone buzzes on the table next to you and you get a text notification from an unknown number. Your boss looks at the phone, then you, and you regretfully have to flip it face down to keep from giving in to temptation.
The end of your workday can't come quick enough, but when you're finally off the clock you barely make it out of the doors before you're pulling out your phone.
[(323) 467-1640: "Hey it's Jordan, hope you don't mind that Diany gave me your number. I was wondering if you were free this weekend?"]
You go all fuzzy and warm as you read, and then try not to overthink your response while you save his number to your contacts.
[You: I'm doing grunt work for the boss on Saturday, but I'm free Sunday if that works for you?]
You head down the block toward your apartment, hoping you don't sound too desperate. As you round the corner your phone buzzes again.
[Jordan: Sounds good to me. I was thinking a Sunday drive in the Ferrari like I promised, and maybe a Trials rematch at my place after?]
There was no other way you'd rather spend your Sunday, but you couldn't tell him that. Instead, you say 'sounds great,' and he says he'll text you on Saturday for a time and place to pick you up.
