(jakes pov)

    The next morning Norm, Camila, and I arrived back at the link room. It just looked like a bunch of cyros or something, I honestly don't know if this is even going to work.
Norm slipped into his link bed thing and Grace and him exchanged link hours."What about you, Camila?"

"None, not yet, but I've been training for this mission for years. " Grace smiled at her and nodded.
"And you, how much logged?"
I was a little distracted looking at the gel type bed.
"Oh, zip. But I read a manual." She turned around to me. I stuck my finger into the soft foam bed.
"Tell me you're joking." She raised a brow.
She raised the hood of my link chamber and I dragged my legs up it. She began to help but I nudged her off.
"Don't! I've got this."
"So you just figured you'd come out here to the most hostile environment known to man, with no training of any kind, and see how it went? What was going through your head?"
"Maybe I was tired of doctors telling me what to do."

I laid down in the chamber and she put a like wire structure thing ontop of me.
"Just relax and let you're mind go blank, shouldn't be hard for you."
"Oh, kiss the darkest part of my lily white-" The link closed. It was really tiny, similar to the cyros we were in on our flight out. I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes, trying to just let go of all my thoughts.

(camilas pov)

I gazed down at the bed.
"You okay?" Max said.
"Yeah, It's just I've been training for so long it almost doesn't seem real."
He smiled. "I guess you'll see when you get there then."
I laid down in the chamber and closed myself in, closing my eyes and taking deep breaths.

"Camila!" My eyes shot open to two med techs standing over me. They snapped at my ears to check my hearing, and flashed a light in my eyes to check the dilation. I lifted my hands above my head to see that they were blue. It worked! I sat up to see Jake next to me amazed that he could move his legs and feet.
The med techs continued examining me until I saw Jake jump up out of the bed and start swinging his tail around, hitting objects off trays and almost hitting a med tech.
"Jake you're not used to your avatar body yet, you need to sit down!" Max yelled through the glass.
"This is great." Jake pulled his leads off and practically sprinted out of the room.

Seeing Jake run out of the room, looking so free I had the urge to do the same and follow after him. I yanked the leads off and quickly apologized, opening the door. I just stood for a moment, feeling the warmth of the sun on my face. It smelt fresh so fresh, like a mix of flowers and grass, faint water. I looked ahead of me and saw Jake running.
"Hey, Jake wait up!" I began to sprint after him, not noticing he came to a stop and falling straight on top of him. We looked into each others eyes for a moment and then I quickly got up.

"I'm sorry, I didn't notice you stopped," I chuckled nervously. He smiled and opened his mouth to talk until I heard a familiar voice.
"Marine!"
"Damn," I heard him mumble. I furrowed my brow. "Grace?"
"Well who'd you expect numbnuts? Think fast!" She threw two purple fruits at us and we both took a bite.
"Motor controls looking good." She said laughing.

(jake's pov)

Night fell upon us, and we were back in a cabin-ish thing with beds. I looked at my braid, and there was nerves on the end. "That's kinda freaky." I mumbled.
"Don't play with that, you'll go blind," I heard a soft voice say. I looked up to see Camila smiling.
I chuckled. She walked over the her bed, that happened to be directly next to mine.
"Lights out. See ya at dinner kitties." Grace said to everyone, shutting the lights off.
I laid down and turned over on my side. looking at Camila. She was beautiful. She turned towards me too.
"What are you looking at?" She whispered in a playful tone.
I laughed turned on my back, beginning to close my eyes. Once I opened them I was back in the chamber.
"Welcome back." Max said.
I looked down at my legs. That's one way to bring you back to reality.
