My eyes shot open and I gasped for air. It was dark and cold, a coffin type cubical. Suddenly, I was slid out, the bright lights shining down on me as a started to float upward from the gravity. Rubbing my eyes, I looked up at the med tech.
"Are we there yet?"
"Yeah, we're there sunshine." the med tech replied.

"People, you have been in cryo for five years, nine months and twenty two days. You will be hungry, you will be weak. If you feel nausea, please use the sacks provided for your convenience. The staff thanks you in advance."
I unbuckled from my capsule, and glided over to find my locker.  Smith, C.
I grabbed my things from my locker and looked over to see a handsome, well built guy next to me. I smiled at him out of respect and he smiled back. I proceeded to grab my things and took a breathe. This is finally happening. I get to experience Pandora. I've been dreaming about it for years, and I'm finally here. Sure did take a lot of research and time, but this is worth it.

   "Exopacks on! Let's go!"
I grabbed my mask, and put in on, stabilizing the pressure and then heading off the ship.
"Go directly into the base! Do not stop! Straight to the base!" It was pretty chaotic. I grabbed my things and looked down the rows of people to see the same guy from earlier, but he was in a wheelchair. I immediately felt horrible for him. Poor guy.
I headed off the ship but slowly, sort of waiting for him.

"Look at all this fresh meat!" Wainfleet exclaimed.
The man in the wheelchair rolled off and I walked a little bit ahead of him.
"Hey look, meals on wheels. Now that is just wrong." I furrowed my brow at the solider.
"Really? Have some fucking respect, asshole." I rolled my eyes, then proceeded to wait for the guy in the wheelchair.
"That was badass," He chuckled.
I smiled and brushed the hair out of my face.
"Jake Sully," He held his hand out. I shook it
"Camila Smith."

I was directed to the room where we would learn about protection and rules, etc. Quaritch, he's the head security at RDA, also the one giving the 'speech'. He isn't my favorite person, that's for sure. He's another trigger happy idiot that gets their enjoyment from shooting whatever they can see. I leaned on my hand, and perked up to hear the slight sound of a wheel chair rolling in. I turned my head quickly around, and it was indeed who I expected. I gave him a small wave and smiled.

I walked beside Jake as we entered the corridor, and heard a perky voice come up behind me. "Hey, you're Jake right? Tom's brother? Wow, you look just like him." A nerdy looking guy said to him.
"Sorry, I'm Norm Spellman. I went through avatar training with him." They shook hands.
"He was a great guy - funny," Norm continued.
"It was a big shock to all of us."
"Yeah." He looked sad, but I guess eager to check out the avatars- since he was gone in a flash to the large tubes. Norm began to introduce himself but I was too amazed to listen. I wandered off look at them aswell.

(jake's pov)

"Damn! They got big!" I said, shocked.
"Yeah, they mature fully on the fly out."
Norm replied.
"They've got great muscle tone. Give us a few hours, you guys can take them for a spin." I looked up and shook my head at the other scientist, Max. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Camila walking over. She is beautiful, absolutely perfect. She squatted down by next to me and looked the avatar up and down.
"He's handsome," she laughed.
I chuckled nervously and looked back up at the tube. He looks almost exactly like Tommy.
"He looks just like him." I whispered.
"No Jake, he looks like you. This is your avatar now." I smiled, but noticed Camila had already wandered off to hers.

I wheeled over and looked at the tube. Damn. She was gorgeous, built nicely, a long torso and slight abs. Long black hair and long eyelashes. Perfect stripes.
"She's beautiful,"

I felt my face start to heat up. Jake sure is charming. I brushed it off and flicked him on the side of the head.
"Oh, shut up." I giggled.
I didn't except to come to on this mission to start bluffing over the first guy I've talked to. But, I mean look at his face, how could you not?

A cubical like thing opened and a perky red headed women pops out. Grace.
"Where's my god damn cigarette? Guys, what's wrong with this picture?" She scolded, having the tech quickly come over and bring her one.
"Grace Augustine is a legend. She's the head of the Avatar Program, and she wrote the book - I mean literally wrote the book on Pandoran botany."
"That's because she likes plants better than people," Max whispered.

"And here she is, Cinderella back from the
ball. Grace, I'd like you to meet Norm Spellman, Camila Smith and Ja-"
"Norm! I've heard good things about you. How's you're Na'Vi?"
They both started speaking in Na'Vi. I wasn't fluent on the language, but I knew a few phrases.
"Not bad, you sound a little formal." Grace said, taking a drag of her cigarette.

"Uh Grace, This is Jake Su-"
"I know who you are and I don't need you. I need you're brother. You know, the PhD who trained for this mission for three years?"
"He's dead." He replied.
"I know it's just a big inconvenience for everyone."
Grace's face expression changed.
"How much lab training have you had?"
"I dissected a frog once," He said with a smirk. I laughed quietly.

Grace rolls her eyes and throws her hands up.
"You see? You see? They're pissing on us without even the courtesy of calling it rain. I'm going to Selfridge."
"Grace that's not a good idea," Max began, but Grace had already left. He turned to Jake.
"Here tomorrow, 08 hundred, try to use big words. Oh, and Camila," He turned to me this time.
"She's got a bit of a temper, but she'll like you. Just make a good impression tomorrow." I smiled.
