A/N
Hey! So this story is a Milex fanfiction, it's purely fictional and not based off of real events. The AU is where Miles is a fairly successful musician and Alex just writes songs or strums on his guitar occasionally for fun. In secondary school however, Matt, Jamie, Nick and Alex had been in a band together for a bit in year ten, but they stopped once they graduated school. And yes, I am aware the timeline of songs and stuff isn't accurate, but this is an AU after all so don't expect it to be a replica of real life haha. Also, warning, this story will contain descriptions of sexual content, so if that makes you uncomfortable I advise you don't read this! There'll be a '~' before and after any NSFW parts though. Oh and this has swearing in.
Alex let his hand linger on the photo, hanging up on his cream-coloured wall. A group of young lads, barely recognisable as their current selves, were standing arm in arm in front of a seemingly endless field. The sky was the usual England sky colours, an ombre from a dark grey to a slightly lighter one, clouds hiding the sun. He placed his finger on the chest of one of them, a guy with hair reminiscent of the Beatles, brown eyes that always seemed to glimmer, those brown eyes that the younger Turner always daydreamed of. As much as he hated to admit it, often he still caught himself fantasising of those dark eyes. It was foolish though, he knew that. Kane hadn't contacted him for years, and even when they did talk it was usually a one way conversation. Their 'chit-chats' usually consisted of Alex talking at Miles, while the handsome, admirable boy just smiled and nodded, rarely adding a short comment or witty remark to make Alex giggle. The truth was, as much as Alex had wanted to be friends with Kane, Kane didn't want to be friends with Alex. Most likely Miles had just felt pitiful for Alex and let him ramble about guitar riffs out of sympathy.
Sometimes Alex received a ding from an unknown number on his mobile device. Every single time he'd be clinging onto that spark of hope that somehow Miles had found his number. And every time he was filled with disappointment.
The continuous and perhaps endless infatuation with the muscular lad was something that Alexander had kept to himself. Nobody, not even his closest mates, knew of it. They thought the random blushing and smiling was just Al being his 'usual odd self', they didn't suspect anything of it. Not even Matt, who Alex often swore could read minds.
The repetitive, light hit of the door snapped him out of his daydream, his veiny hand recoiled from the grainy photograph, his arms trembling. Really he needed to stop getting freaked out from a knock at the door whenever he wasn't expecting it, but he really couldn't. Each time that a visit hadn't been planned, there were only two things that would happen, well sometimes both. One, he'd almost have a panic attack. Two, his mind would wonder if it was Miles. Whether it was the first or second, Alex's mind would freak out and his heart would hammer against his chest.
As he was making his way over to the door, it opened before he could even reach it, swinging right into his face and leaving a crimson mark.
"Shit sorry mate," Apologised the voice he instantly recognised as Jamie, who quickly pulled him into a hug.
"'S alrigh', jus' a good old slap to the face," Joked Turner, patting his friend on the back, giving him a kind smile. Despite it, Cookie apologised repeatedly, insisting it wasn't okay. Eventually Alex got irritated from reassuring him so many times and slapped his friend, "There, even, ye don't gotta apologise anymore aight?"
Hesitantly, Jamie nodded, nursing his now red cheek. Raising an eyebrow, Alex gestured vaguely at his mate to speak. For a moment, he stood there, his mind trying to figure out what was happening. When he realised, he quickly recalled why he was here and sat himself down on Al's comfortable, grey couch. He leaned forwards and clapped his hands, "Okay, so basically there's a party comin' soon, an' it'll have loads a people from like, way back, years ago."
