"That's everything? Absolutely everything that's happened?" Rebecca scoffs at me across the table at a diner we're eating at for late lunch.

"Um, yeah that's it." I pick at the fries that came with my burger that I ordered. I called Becca because she needed to know what was going on.

"So can I meet him? I mean since you guys are dating and I am your only friend, I get to meet him, right?"

"Yeah. I guess." I shrug it off.

"So, does he have a brother?" She smiles.

"Gay," I smile.

"Damn it!" She yells a little too loud and catches the attention of nearby people eating. We start laughing.

"All the good ones are always either taken or gay," she complains. I love Becca with all my heart. She was the first and only friend I made when I moved here. She takes a sip of her weird herbal tea crap that she likes. I'm sticking with coffee because I'm tired.

"So, what are you gonna do about the whole Christmas thing? Are you gonna bring your parents?" She shifts in her chair and takes a sip of her tea.

"I am. I'm gonna bring them. They should see his family and who I'm dating. They should see what I see in him." I really did want them to see him. He's a beautiful person and he's been through a lot.

"Great. Go ahead and remind me that I'm single. That's awesome." Sarcasm is one of the reasons I love Becca. She's so funny and witty with her remarks.

"Alright. I better call my parents and get this whole Christmas fiasco out of the way." I get up and open the door to go outside. I pull out my phone and dial 1 for my parents. I put the phone up to my ear and hear the ringing and the phone picks up on the other end.

"Ana?" I hear my moms voice on the other end.

"Hey mom. How are you?" I ask. I can hear my mom call my dad from the other end and she puts me on speaker phone.

"Hey sweetheart. Your dad is here too."

"Hey Ana" I hear my dad's voice.

"Hey mom, hey dad. How are you guys?"

"We're good. We gonna head over to breakfast right now." I hear the car keys in the background.

"Oh, well I wanted to talk to you about something. It can wait if you want."

"Nono it's totally fine. Go ahead. What is it?"

"Well I wanted to invite you guys up here for Christmas dinner with me and..my boyfriend. He wants to meet you guys and we wanted to do it over Christmas dinner and stuff like that." I hear silence. I am incredibly nervous right now.

"You have a boyfriend? Well what's his name?" She questions.

"Dean" I say it blankly.

"That sounds nice. Okay. We'll head up there for Christmas."

"Okay mom, I love you guys. Bye." I

I hang up the phone and head back inside.
