A couple years later, the Dragonets started to grow bigger and stronger. Strangely enough, Sprial's horns straighten out back to normal. Kestrel often tried to train them but no one really wanted to fight, except for Spiralhorn. Kestrel would make a set of rules that the Dragonets had to obey while fighting, however Spiralhorn often broke these rules.
"Now remember Spiralhorn, no tail stomping or biting, no throwing dirt, and most importantly NO eye scratching!" Kestrel stated. Spiralhorn rolled his eyes, "Yeah whatever, I don't care about the rules..." He mumbled to himself. Kestrel pounced at the younger Skywing who quickly rolled out of the way and bit down on Kestrel's neck. Kestrel countered by grabbing Spiral's head and shoving it to the ground. Spiralhorn growled as he used the small horn on his nose to throw up some dirt into Kestrel's eye.
"ARGHH!" She shook her head back and forth in pain. Spiralhorn took this opportunity to grab her tail with his teeth and yank as hard as he could. Kestrel boomed, "ENOUGH!!!" Spiral let go of her tail. After Kestrel got the dirt out of her eyes, she scolded Spiralhorn. "I said to NOT throw dirt and NOT to bite tails!" She growled.
Spiralhorn snapped back, "That's not fair! There shouldn't be any rules! If we're going to be fighting dragons outside, then we should learn to fight normally without rules!!! I would've probably died if I was fighting a real dragon and didn't throw dirt!" "There are rules for a reason, you ungrateful brat! You're lucky I'm even teaching you to fight at all!" Kestrel argued. Spiralhorn huffed and walked away. He walked back to the main hall and sat down. Sunny looked up at him and asked, "Are you ok, Spiral?" "No! I hate being here, I want us to be able to go outside and be normal dragons! I'm tired of Kestrel and Dune bossing us around. It's not fair!" Spiralhorn replied in an angry tone.
"Calm down, Spiralhorn. The guardians are trying their best. They even got us all these scrolls to read." Starflight held up one of the Nightwing scrolls. Spiralhorn turned his head away, "I hate reading scrolls, they're all boring! The only ones I actually like are the Scavenger scrolls..." "Well, maybe some food might make you feel better." Clay suggested. Spiral sighed, "I'm not hungry. I just wanna go outside..." "Well maybe, they'll let us out eventually when we're older." Tsunami tried to reassure him."Probably not... I'm just gonna go to my room..." Spiralhorn got up and left. As he walked towrds his room he passed the boulder that blocked the front of the cave.
Spiralhorn stopped to look at the boulder and started thinking. "Tch, it's just a boulder, I can break it." Then Spiral swiped as hard as he could at the boulder, not even leaving a scratch. He kept clawing at the boulder but to no avail. He growled in frustration, "Gah! Stupid boulder!" Spiralhorn back away from the large boulder and lowered his head. "I'll just use my head and crack the boulder apart!" Spiralhorn rushed at the boulder at full speed. Upon collision, he ended up cracking his front nose horn. "Ow!!! Ouchie!!!" He held his head and whined.
After he recovered, he tried again. "I'll get it this time..." Spiralhorn headbutted the boulder again this time accidentally breaking off the tip of his left horn. He gasped, "NO my horn!!!" Spiral felt his left horn and cried, "I broke my horn!!!" Webs and Dune ran over to him. "Spiralhorn what happened!?" Webs was worried. "Webs! Dune! I broke my horn on the boulder!" He whimpered. Dune remarked, "I'm assuming you learned you're lesson about breaking the boulder."
Spiralhorn just shook his head, "No, I'll break it when I'm older..." Dune just sighed, "Of course you will..." "Spiralhorn, maybe you should just get some rest, ok?" Webs smiled. Spiral glared at him and Dune, "No! I want outside!" "You're not going to go outside. You're staying here until we think you're ready to stop the war." Dune explained. Spiralhorn just stomp his foot, "No I'm gonna go out now!" The young Skywing just continued to attack the boulder as Webs looked at him in concern. He opened his mouth to say something but Dune interrupted him. "Don't bother, he'll get over it." Webs just nodded and both of the guardians left.
Unfortunately, Dune was wrong.
