It was raining as the last class ended and the bell rang. Caroline closed her notebook, starting to pack her stuff into her bag. Everyone else was hurrying, wanting to go home, or having programs.
-Awh it's rainiiing...I forgot my umbrellaa...- Layla was whining again as the others were leaving. Caroline was the last one today too.
She was walking down the hallway, listening to other people talking about their weekend plans. Karaoke night, Movie date, Family events... So boring.. Well, not as boring as Caroline's weekend. Doing homework, reading, looking through the internet. Lonely and boring.
She put her hood on as she left the building, walking on the streets of Birmingham. People walked past her, rushing somewhere. Who knows where. She saw girls running in the rain without umbrellas, getting all wet.
"Heh..losers." -she thought while grinning to herself. Caroline isn't the nicest person ever, let's be honest.
As she got home, her mom was cooking in the kitchen.
-Is it you, little buttercup?- she looked at the door, smiling at her daughter.
-Yeah, I'm home for school.. I told you to stop calling me that! -she put her bag down and she was untying her shoes.
-Sorry, darling! My old brain always forgets these things!-she chuckled- "Anyways, your sister is coming home soon too! She had a very long week at work, so be nice to her this weekend!
Caroline just rolled her eyes as she closed the door of her room behind her. Her room was just as plane as her: grey walls, bookshelves, a closet, a bed, a table with a laptop and a lamp on it, a window, a rug...
She laid down, sighing, grabbing her phone to watch some youtube videos. The first video that popped up on her recommended page was about shifting and how to do it.
"Shifting.." -she thought, looking at her screen for some minutes, before her mother yelled 'dinner's ready' and she put her phone down, walking towards the door to go and eat. "It's probably stupid anyways..."- and she closed the door behind herself.
