chapter 8

after we got back from hawaii i had to call jill to tell her i couldn't come to the national team camp

"hey rylnn what's up"
"hey jill i don't know if u have heard yet but i tore my acl so i won't be able to come to camp next week"
"oh my i didn't hear but since the flights and room is payed for already how about u come just to met everyone and to do physical therapy"
"that sounds great can't wait to meet everyone"

end of call

after i get off the call i get a shower and head to bed since tomorrow is my surgery. justin is currently in georgia packing his stuff up to move here next month.

when i wake up i got dressed in some comfy clothes since i would be at the hospital. then i took a few mirror pictures and put my brace on and head downstairs. when i got downstairs everyone was eating breakfast and it smelled good but i couldn't eat it so i sat outside. after everyone was done we got in the car and headed to the hospital. at the hospital my mom checked me in and they took me back to the room. they explained everything that was going to happen and then they prepared me for surgery.
they took me back to the OR and next thing i knew i was out.

after the surgery i woke up and my mom was talking to the doctors when they saw i was awake.
"ahh nice to see u are awake"
"anyways i was telling ur mom that u will be on crutches for 2 weeks no weight then after 2 weeks u will come in a we will take the stitches out and then u can start physical therapy and we will go from there"
"okay sounds good"
after that i got to go home abs i was laying in bed when justin called

how u feeling
good could be better tho
that's good i can't wait to see u again
yeah only 2 more months
so are u going to camp tomorrow or are u staying home
yeah i'm going to camp and i'll be there for a month so i'll start physical therapy there and everything. sadly i'll miss ur spring game.
yeah that sucks but i rather us both be living out dream
right anyways ima go pack and shower and go to bed
okay bye call me when u landed tomorrow

after we got off the phone i got my crutches and head to the shower i had to sit on a chair and keep my knee out of the water. after my shower i got dressed and packed my clothes

then next morning i woke up and my mom helped me get my stuff for camp and we headed to the airport. at the airport she helped me get to my gate then i was on my own.

"now boarding flight to orlando"
i got up and put my crutches under my armpits and tried to get my duffel bag but i was struggling.
"here let me help u"
"uh thanks"
"yeah no problem. what happened"
"huh oh i tore my acl 3 weeks ago in a soccer game"
"oh damn that sucks"
"yeah it does"
"well here u go"
"thanks again"
he nodded. i sat down and then he came back and said his seat was next to me.
"so do you have snapchat" he asked
"yeah"
"can i have it"
"uh i have a boyfriend and i don't think he would like me give my snap out like this"
"i bet he don't compare to me"
"ur right he is better" now i was getting uncomfortable
"oh really let me see"
i showed him justin's instagram and his mouth dropped.
"i didn't realize ur boyfriend was justin fields i loved watching him at georgia this year"
"yeah he is pretty great"
"so are u like a d1 athlete too i just don't see him getting with a soccer player who isn't good"
"yeah i'm going to ohio state"

then the plane landed and i met the team by the baggage claim and they were all helpful and got my stuff. then we headed to the hotel.
"okay roommates for this camp are posted in the meeting room. if u have rylnn as ur roommate u will be helping her with her stuff and anything she might need while u are in the room." jill said

we all headed to the meeting room to see who we got as roommates. my roommate was Tobin Heath i was excited cause i have looked up to her since i started watching soccer.
"hey i'm tobin i'll take ur stuff"
"thanks"
we started walking to our room and when we got there i decided to text justin.

rylnn- hey baby i just got to my room hope spring training is going well for you. talk to you later💞
justin- thanks baby hope ur physical therapy goes well and call me i want to see ur face🥰

after reading his text i called him

justin- hey baby girl i miss u
rylnn- i miss u too. how is practice going
justin- it's going well. lots of work but it will pay off when we win the natty.
rylnn- your right where is my bestie garret
justin- uhh GARRET COME HERE
garret- hey princess i miss u when u coming to visit
rylnn- soon after camp i'll be there for good for physical therapy
justin and garret- WAIT REALLY
rylnn- yes nobody else knows besides the coaches and my parents and now u guys
"rylnn who are u talking to"tobin said
"oh just my boyfriend and best friend"i said
"okay well lunch is starting soon we have to go"she said
rylnn- okay guys i have to go but i'll talk to you later love you guys
justin and garret- love you bye

"so how did you and your boyfriend meet" tobin says as we are eating. all eyes turn to me.
"uh he plays football and our teams played eachother  2 years ago and we ran into eachother when i was looking for my ex" i said
"oh so how long have y'all been dating" someone asked
"like 2 months we took things slow since i lived in ohio and he was still playing at georgia" i said
"okay so how did you meet your best friend" tobin asked
"we both took our offical visit the same weekend and we ran into eachother and just had a lot to talk about" i said
