"Ready lil'bit?"

"I'm ready. You are never going to guess, Leon asked me to the dance."

"Leon?"

"Yeah, freshman starter on the basketball team." She said rolling her eyes.

"Oh yeah, skinny kid with the nice hook shot. You can't go you know." Again, she rolled her eyes.

"I know and I told him that but he's two grades above me. Just the fact he asked me is awesome."

"What about boys being rude?"

"He's not a boy he's a guy totally different." She informed me.

"How's that?"

"Boys are immature and stupid. Guys have made progress and are worth talking to."

"Right." She was thirteen but sometimes I had a hard time remembering that. She was just starting into the teen troubles. "See you tomorrow sir." I said waving as I held the door for my sister. I slid onto my bike and waited for her to slide on behind me. I handed her the little white helmet from my saddle bag and she strapped it on. It was the rule I had for her riding with me. She had to wear it no matter how bad it looked or how much it ruined her hair.

"How about we ride up and get pizza for dinner?"

"At Gallegy's?" She chirped. "Awesome." I laughed and headed out of town. Gallegy's was out next to highway and it was her favorite. We were sitting at our booth devouring a three meat when I saw someone that I knew was going to make this night go to shit. He walked in spotted me and I sighed pushing my plate away. Cassie opened her mouth, no doubt to ask what was wrong but Neil leaned on our table edge smiling at me. My wolf was already stretching out inside me.

"You promised dad." Cassie reminded me. Neil smirked at her.

"Promised dad what?" he asked her, taking her piece of pizza and taking a bite.

"That I wouldn't break your face no matter how much you push my buttons." Neil was a pack member and the only one who had a problem with me. It was because I had rebuffed every flirt, he'd passed my way growing up. He wasn't my mate and I wasn't interested. He was the reason I came up with Rule number three, I didn't date any guys, the only guy I was going to see personally was my mate. He'd taken exception to it and been a pain in my ass ever since. I had promised dad that I'd stop fighting but if he made a nuisance of himself my wolf and I would kick his ass, again. He dropped the pizza back onto her plate. She gave it a nasty look and pushed it away. The worst thing about this being a pack restaurant, pack tended to show up.

"Oh, I don't think you could."

"He could break you in half." My little sister said sticking up for me. Neil turned and leaned across the table toward me. I stayed in place despite the fact I wanted to lean away. My wolf wanted to bite first and ask questions later.

"There are other ways, much more fun ones to wrestle around." I put a hand to his chest and pushed him out of my face.

"No." Was all I said dropping my hand when he was far enough away. I saw anger cloud over his face. He growled and stomped away. Deciding not to push our luck we got a doggy bag for the rest of our pizza and headed home.

"Why does he act like that?" My sister asked as we sat in the living room.

"Because he's a boy not a guy." I told her. She giggled.

"Maggie says he's a jerk to you because you won't go out with him. Is that why?" I sighed.

"Yes." I admitted.
