Chapter 2 - Old and New Friends

(y/n) POV

The video cut off after that last statement and everyone is silent. Suddenly there is chaos and everyone is screaming terrified about the fact that there are supernatural creatures among us. I know that I should also be feeling this fear, but for some reason I don't. I sit in my seat quietly as I think about everything that just happened.

The intercom comes on with the principal speaking.

Quiet down students, take a breath. The class period is almost over. We are going to continue the day as normally as possible, we just have to trust these men that they mean what they say. - principal

Everyone stops talking and the bell rings signaling the end of class. Everyone walks out and there is a ton of chatter throughout the halls. Everyone is talking about the seven men. Im curious if there are any supernatural beings in our school that are in hiding. Would they even come out now?

I go through the rest of my classes up until lunchtime. There I walk in and find my group of friends. At the table there is Tessa, George, Sophia, and Abby.

Hey guys - me

Hey y/n! - everyone else

Oh my gosh this morning was crazy! - Tessa

Yes it was! - Sophia

I really hope none of those monsters come to our school. - Abby

Yeah I don't know about y'all but I don't wanna be eaten alive. They are probably gonna use us humans as a food source!! - Tessa

Yeah they are really scary to be honest - Sophia

I don't think they are all that scary - Me

Everyone at the table stops and looks at me.

What do you mean they aren't scary y/n! - George

I don't know! I know that it would make sense for me to be scared of them. But for some reason I'm just not scared. I just have this feeling that I know they won't hurt me. Does that make sense? - Me

No y/n that doesn't make sense! - Tessa

Just then I realize that everyone in the cafeteria is looking at me and listening to our conversation. Everybody is glaring at me. I start to shrink in on myself.

I bet she's one of those freaks!!! - random kid

After hearing that all of my friends shot up from the table. They all gave me a look of pure hatred.

No I'm not one of them! I'm just not scared of them! - Me

Don't try to lie to us y/n. What other reason could you possibly have for not being scared of them. - Abby

Yeah I bet your plan was to eat all of us! - Sophia

No thats not true! - Me

The next thing I knew I was sitting alone at my table and all the tables surrounding me were empty as well. I hung my head down towards the table and started to hug myself. I lost all of my appetite and got up and threw away my half eaten lunch. I then made my way to my fifth hour of the day.
