How did it get this bad?

I woke up the next day and got ready for school. my dad had already left for work. when I got to school my best friend Ashton noticed the bruise on my cheek from when my dad slapped me. "Makayla, what happened?" I had to lie I because I couldn't cause Ashton any trouble " I ran into my glass door That I forgot to shut?" I could tell Ashton didn't believe me but he let it go. At the end of the day we met up with Luke, Calum, and Michael. As I was walking out of school to Ashton's car Luke ran up to me and hugged me "hey, do you want to go to the beach? We're all going?" I couldn't risk my dad getting mad at me again, but he did hurt me so he should understand if I needed to get away for a while. "Ok but I need to be back by eleven." I told Luke "YES!!!" I could tell he was excited I just laughed and got in Ash's car.
When we got to the beach I realized I didn't have anything to wear so Calum said he would buy me a 2 piece of course. After I got my bathing suit on we went back to the beach to find Michael and Ashton burying Luke. I decided to play a joke on Luke " hey Luke?" "Yeah?" "Ummm, you do realize that there are crabs that burry theirselves in the sand right?" It was hilarious because after I said that Ashton and Michael instantly pulled their hands out of the sand, and Luke yelled and tried but failed to hurry and get out of the sand. I was laughing my butt off, while Luke glared at me and said " you will pay for this." I have to admit when Luke wants revenge he gets it so I was kind of scared.
I layed down on a lounge chair and put my sunglasses on to start tanning when I felt something wet and cold on ,my feet I opened my eyes and saw Luke, Asthon, and Michael with water guns.
